Clean this mess up or else we'll all end up in jail...those test tubes and the scale...just get 'em all outta here..." He was referring to the complex super-critical-CO2 hop extraction equipment set up on the table in the lab across from the brewhouse. Hop extracts are for the BIG brewers, he thought - suitable only for crummy sub-standard and barely-passable industrial lagers, not the subtle and elegant craft beer made here. But wrong he was. The New Brewer does not eschew any possible inputs. In this case the mountain of extracts will replace the mountain of hop vegetative material in the kettle thus creating cleaner hop flavors and preventing the otherwise spinach-like mess of a kettle full of super-hopped wort from clogging up a pump or worse. The sensuous honey-like amber ooze was administered intravenously to the wort kettle and the sacrament was complete. Another kettle of Hop Stoopid is once again raised up and fermented on high.

22 oz bottle. No brew on date or anything like... at least not that I can find.
A: Brilliant copper colored brew. Cream colored head, about a finger's worth, that dissipates very quickly yet leaves nice lacing.
S: Pine and nutty aroma though I have to say that it is kinda subdued.
T: Delicious hop bitterness with a delicate floral taste and ever so slight grapefruit hopiness. A little cereal and caramel malt in the background, but they are there.
M: A little sticky with a good level of carbonation. Pretty much nailed it here.
D: This is 8.25%? Incredible for the style though I'm sure I'll be feeling a nice buzz after I finish all 22 oz.

Lagunitas is stupid. This beer is disgusting and really sucks for how popular it is.

I wasn’t an IPA fan until a trip to California a few years ago. One of the best memories was a 22oz of the Hop Stoopid.
This batch (6 pack in Ohio) tastes nice and fresh. With this offering from Lagunitas, I actually like the smell better than the taste. There is a delightful pineapple scent.
This is a a tasty IPA that doesn’t disappoint!

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Julian date of 0238, so appears to have been bottled in August of 2020. Quote a bit older than preferred, but here goes ..
Looks fantastic in the glass. Clear deep golden yellow body. Bright foamy white head persists in very good form throughout, leaving excellent lacing.
There is an aroma, pleasant, but hard to describe.
On tasting, it's strong, quite sweet, and although the hops have faded, there is still a hint of clean bitterness. The abv is apparent.
Mouth close to full, finish bittersweet.
Overall, at this age, still a decent drink. Will re-review if I find one fresh off the line and it's significantly different.
