Bomber.

The moment the cap was popped this just oozed a beautiful whiffy glaze of husky lightly piney bitterness.

When poured this immediately formed an off white foamy 3/4 inch head which slowly shrunk but remained a decent ring ring for the duration. Nice light bright golden orangy slight haze colour. Initaially not much beading until I was about 1/3 of the way down the glass then many tiny tiny waves of ubiquitous beads.

A penetrating but trim and finesse bitterness. A great deep dry husky cleansing and dominating bitterness with some hop oily element there at the end as well. As it warms in the glass the body grows ever so slightly and takes on a a honeyish element.
Still not much more than medium bodied but supports all those 102 IBUs effortlessly without anything roidish whatsoever. Truly astounding. Must be some sort of world record and it just lets the beers many positive qualities just do the rounds around your sense.

Totally dominant and delicious. Was on my lips until the end of the evening.

Clear and golden amber. A semi-aggressive pour yielded a nice, three-finger head. Retention is only OK, but there's a pretty solid lace crown left behind. Big time grapefruit/pine/resin on the nose. Pungently dank, hoppy aroma.

Despite the 100+ IBUs, the perceived bitterness isn't super-high because of a solid malt backbone. What you do perceive is plenty of grapefruity, grassy hop goodness. Some malty sweetness kicks in, but the hop bitterness keeps it in the background. The massively hopped flavor is appreciated, but it's so resiny and unrelenting that it fatigues the palate. Some, however, may find this appealing. Alcohol is nicely under control, and the oily mouthfeel and carbonation level is spot-on for a big IPA.

An old-school C hop bomb and a good value to boot. Not at all refined, kind of in a good way. Worth trying if you're a hophead.

8% this smooth, excellent nose, taste and smoothness. Well keep em coming folks!!!

Strong nose and taste, but very very smooth. I love this beer; it's a permanent in my frig.

Excellent beer.

Pours a beautiful amber with a massive pillowy white head that lingers and lingers. Nice lacing, crisp and clear body.

I smell a lot of tropical fruits, some biscuity malts a little resin.

A classic west coast DIPA. tropical fruits, good malt backbone,

This is a classic for a reason. Incredibly smoothe and easy drinking. You're not reading this because you're unsure what Hop Stoopid is. HS is known, and it's known for a reason. It's a very good west DIPA.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a La Fin du Monde Tulip Glass

A: A beautiful light copper color; almost the color of honey. It pours to a big, thick white head that slowly dies down leaving lots of lacing (which persisted to the very end!).

S: Whoa, that’s a lot of hops!!! A huge hop bouquet that is dominated sticky, resinous pine. There is also a lot of citrus in there (some oranges and grapefruit maybe). This beer smells awesome!

T: What can I say, ‘effing awesome!!! Hop Stoopid, as the name suggests, has a massive hop flavor with tons of sticky piney hops. The massive amounts of bittering hops work in perfect balance with a sweet caramel malt base. There must be a huge grain bill but the sweetness is not coating or overpowering and in the end, the beer finishes very clean with lingering flavors of malt and pine and grapefruit.

M: Full, rich, round, creamy, clean.

O: This is a fantastic beer and is one of my new favorites! While the first thing that comes to mind with Hop Stoopid is buckets of hops, I am left impressed with the perfect balance of flavors. Even my hop-o-phobic wife really liked this beer!!
