22 to a nonic.

A - Gold. Decently textured off-white head that replenishes itself for a while. Lots of lacing.

S - Hoo boy, hop assault on deck, but actually some sweet malt too. Almost a ganja smell when first poured. Really smells great.

T - Juicy grapefruity citrus with bitter citrus pith. Actually less hoppy than I was expecting, but then again my hop tolerance/palate has shot way up lately. Either way, this is a nice level of hops and bitterness. There's a light expression of malt, but not much. That lets the hops and the dry crispness really define the experience. It kind of makes me yearn for malt to fill in that hole, but that hole and that yearning is part of the art. Its absence is a design element. Has an undertone of the same sort of vegetal, savory dinner smell/taste I got from their regular IPA but more in the background now. Must be some kind of house signature. Each swallow leaves behind a great grapefruit peel bitterness.

M - Evaporates to perfect clean dryness immediately after swallowing. Takes it to the limit of crisp dryness without entering hop abrasion territory, which is really nice.

O - This is a fine, well-crafted, mature, artful beer. The combination of flavor notes in the aroma and taste are just great. I'll definitely buy it again, and soon, to scratch the IPA itch. This is a classy and memorable beer. No bomber is a good deal compared to sixpacks, but at $4.50 for a 22oz., it's a better deal than just about anything else I've found. Keeper.

Poured a finger and half of head on a medium straw colored body... lots of bubbles.
The aroma was a mild citrus and pine.
The taste is bold pine bitterness with a citrus backup. There's a malt backbone somewhere holding it all together. A bit of a watery finish.
The texture was soft with moderate carbonation.
An enjoyable ale.

I sampled a cellar temp bottle of this brew and poured into a snifter.

The beer pours a bright clear copper with fluffy eggshell white head of 4 cm foaming up even with a gradual pour.
The aroma is some caramel and toffee with light citrusy grapefruit and a bit of orange and other tropical fruit.
First sip reveals a sticky texture with fine tingly carbonation.
Flavor is briefly sweet toffee and malt that rolls to some rindy grapefruit, orange pulp and a bit of herbal bite. The finish is very dry and the booze is hidden very well. Quite an enjoyable beer that goes down very easy for a bigger booze and robust flavored drink.
I appreciate the quality even though it isnt my favorite style, worth a shot for certain.

Clear and golden amber. A semi-aggressive pour yielded a nice, three-finger head. Retention is only OK, but there's a pretty solid lace crown left behind. Big time grapefruit/pine/resin on the nose. Pungently dank, hoppy aroma.

Despite the 100+ IBUs, the perceived bitterness isn't super-high because of a solid malt backbone. What you do perceive is plenty of grapefruity, grassy hop goodness. Some malty sweetness kicks in, but the hop bitterness keeps it in the background. The massively hopped flavor is appreciated, but it's so resiny and unrelenting that it fatigues the palate. Some, however, may find this appealing. Alcohol is nicely under control, and the oily mouthfeel and carbonation level is spot-on for a big IPA.

An old-school C hop bomb and a good value to boot. Not at all refined, kind of in a good way. Worth trying if you're a hophead.

Pours a beautiful amber with a massive pillowy white head that lingers and lingers. Nice lacing, crisp and clear body.

I smell a lot of tropical fruits, some biscuity malts a little resin.

A classic west coast DIPA. tropical fruits, good malt backbone,

This is a classic for a reason. Incredibly smoothe and easy drinking. You're not reading this because you're unsure what Hop Stoopid is. HS is known, and it's known for a reason. It's a very good west DIPA.
