Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint.
Appearance: Reddish-copper with nice sized head and light lacing.
Smell: Grapefruit and other tropical fruits with some caramel-like malts. Sweet, sticky and tart smelling.
Taste: Malty upfront with caramel and some sweet, dark fruits. Nice hoppy overtones of grapefruit, orange and pine. The finish is spicy and just somewhat bitter. Pretty balanced, but a little sticky sweet.
Feel: Smooth and creamy with a medium to full body. Moderate carbonation with a barely dry finish.
Overall: This is very similar to their Imperial Red Ale. In fact, I copied my review and changed a few words. However, I would say that this is a little bigger and sweeter, and ultimately not quite as good. But still very good.

22oz (Julian code 123 = bottled 5/3/2013) into a tulip. Pours a deep coppery amber w/ a big fluffy beige head, tons of sticky lace moderate carbonation.
Aroma is a blend of piney evergreen hops, spicy malt, and more than a hint of booze.
Taste is a blend of pale biscuity malt and heavier caramel malt, sharply bitter piney hops, and a touch of alcohol.
Mouthfeel is fairly full-bodied and slick, a little coating and chewy.
Overall this is a pretty powerful beer with a solid malt backbone and I presume a relatively high gravity. Might be fun to get this in 6-packs, but one bomber is enough for me.

Poured a finger of reddish head on a clear, deep amber colored body.
The aroma is rich: finished wood, dry grain and lemon.
They get big flavor points for the shear "biggness" of the beer. Big malt, big hops, big bitterness, lower malt sweetness. It tastes "red."
The texture is crisper with moderate carbonation.
They hit it for a big red ale.

22 oz bomber picked up because guy behind counter saw I was getting a Hop Stoopid and recommended the Lucky 13
A - glowing amber/copper color, 1/2 finger head with decent lacing
S - pine, hops, grapefruit, kiwi
T - don't believe I have ever had a red ale with this much hops. caramel middle with a bitter finish. does not have a strong metallic taste as most reds taste to me but it still retains that "red" flavor.
M - medium mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation
O - very impressed by this mondo large red beer, only second beer ive had from lagunitas but im fast becoming a fan. will definitely drink again because its not expensive (4.99) and very good.

Poured from 22 oz bomber into a wine glass.
A - Orange copper color with about 1 finger of head, good lacing.
S - Strong caramel malts, mild tropical fruit hop notes, some alcohol.
T - To me this was a malt bomb. Extremely strong sweet caramel malts all the way through with a slight bitter hop finish.
M - Very thick and oily, medium carbonation.
O - A pleasant beer however it wasn't as hop forward as i thought it would be. Still very tasty and cheap.
