Stoked to see this for $3.99 a bomber. Pours a clear scarlet mahogany with 3 full fingers of light tan head. Excellent retention and lacing.

Big hop aromas of orange, grapefruit, and golden fruit drizzled with pine sap. Nice malt undertone of caramel, toasted bread, and orange muffins.

Flavor bursts with citrus, pinapple, and grapefruit hops, almost juicy. Sticky pine sweetness is matched by ample caramel and light toffee with hints of sweetened bread. No trace of the 8.3% abv. I'm really a huge fan of the big, bad, hoppy reds.

Body medium, creamy, and lightly chewy. Smooth mouthfeel and killer drinkability. Another winner!

Appearance:
The beer is a beautiful clear reddish amber while the head is foamy and a slightly darker white.

Smell:
The malts and hops seem to blend together with the hops have a grapefruit like smell and the malts come off as rather sweet.

Taste:
A hop taste that is balanced by the sweet malts. The hops are a bit grapefruity and come off as pineapple as well. The malts seem to be both sweet and toasty. The beer tastes kind of like a malty IPA more than anything but still seems to resemble a red ale than anything else.

Mouthfeel:
Medium bodied with very little carbonation.

Overall:
A pretty fantastic red ale and one that I'll definitely came back to again when I get the chance.

22oz bomber poured into pint glass.

Pours amber with a thick two finger khaki head. Lots of lacing while drinking this beer. Typical lagunitas aroma, lots of citrus hops, mostly grapefruit and pineapple. Seems no matter what style they make it always seems more IPA than anything else. The taste keeps the citrus going, grapefruit seems to overwhelm all other comers. Very nice bitterness in the finish. This is the hoppyest Red Ale that I can recall I've had. It's very nice, Lagunitas never let's me down. Great price point for a bomber.

A-pour is a clear copper with a small off white head leaving a solid lace film along the stein

S-strong Pacific coast hops smell , similar to a Cascadian Dark Ale

T-big , bitter , not smooth but has a bite

MF-low mild carbonation , full bodied

Ov-ok beer , glad I tried it , just a tad to hoppy for me
