Perfectly clear amber-red beer with lots of visible carbonation and a small, sea-foam off white head. Little bit of lacing. Lots of resiny earthy citrus and pine hop aromas. Sweeter malt presence than expected, lots of caramel and a touch of grains. Complex despite its hop-bomb potential. Very nice.

Not as sweet as it smells, but on the front of the palate there is a definite caramel malt sweetness that sits as a nice backbone for the beer throughout. It allows the hops to be bitter and resiny without being overbearingly so. That touch of sweet malt really makes the difference actually, and the hops are well balanced. They're very bitter, but earthy and citrusy as well. The grapefruitiness combines well with just a tad bit more than a touch of pine resin. Slight bit of alcohol in the backside and breath. The mouthfeel is appropriate for the style, with a juicy finish that lingers only for a little bit. Carbonation level is medium to high, giving that extra tingle on the tongue.

Good beer overall. Balanced nicely, with a lot of hops to boot. I would recommend to friends.
