A: Pours a hazy corn/gold colour, frothy 1/2 inch head that stays through out, apparent high carbonation visible.

S: bubble gum, coriander, cloves, sweet oranges, ripe apples.

T: I get fruit cake. Good old fruits with spices and alcohol in the background. Cloves are present with some coriander. Yeast flavours dominate the palate with an undertone of bitterness. The finish is sweet.

M: Great carbonation, cleans the palate but does not have the puckering feel that other Unibroue products have.

O: This is a very well enjoyable beer. It's not overly complex, flavours are a bit hidden and it is sweeter then bitter on the balance scale. I think it's a great introduction to a Tripel.

Poured into a tulip glass

Appearance- Poured smooth in a glass to reveal a cloudy, yet bright, orange colour. A mid sized, bubbly white head forms at the top and quickly dissipates within a minute or so, leaving no lacing.

Smell- Fresh citrus and fruit explode boldly into the nostrils. Very refreshing.

Taste- This beer really doesn't come off as complex but maintains a very steady and strong taste. A fruity/citrus flavor invades your tongue with hints of coriander with a slight hop undertone. The alcohol is very well masked but lingers in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel- Highly carbonated but dissolves into the mouth very quickly and finishes smooth.

Overall- Unibroue is one of my favorite breweries as almost every Unibroue drink I have had has exceeded my expectations by miles. La Fin Du Monde is no different. This is one of m favorite beers by them and one of my favorite beers in general. It's an extremely well made Triple ale on lees. If you took Blue Moon and made it 10x better, you would have La Fin Du Monde. I also enjoy it with slices of grapefruit (that's right, not oranges). I drink this beer regularly and recommend it to all beer-curious folk. Just be careful that hidden 9% ABV doesn't sneak up on you!

This is my favorite beer in the world. Pouring it angled properly yields little head, sometimes I get a thick foamy white head. There are tons of sweet and fragrant aromas that I'm not so good at identifying, but it is quite pleasant. I know cloves are in there. The taste is similar, with many different flavors. VERY smooth, flavorful, yet robust with a well-hidden 9% kick that you feel in your head rather than your tongue. The label of the bottle is amazing, and the title is French for "The End of the World." For me, personally, this is the end-all-be-all of great beer. I also love the sound of the cork popping. These are now available at my local grocer (the nice one, anyway) for around $7 a bottle. Awesome deal.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass:

A: This stuff is really carbonated. Light golden color with big billowy head. Good retention.

S: Typical damp towel Belgian smell. Bell peppers, spices, malty earth, dirt, tomatoes.

T: Sweet, complex mixture that tastes nice. Dark fruits, spices, and malts play center stage here. Buttery.

M: Starts out by flooding your buds with flavor, then radiates on the back of your tongue. Light bodied, finishes dry. Invites more sips.

O: I'm still trying to find a spot in my heart for Belgians. Usually they are too malty and peppery for me, and I find myself disliking the flavor. This was a decent beer with an adequate taste that many would find very enjoyable, but what I really liked was the overall mouthfeel. Refreshing.

341mL bottle. Pours a beautiful cloudy golden with a modest white head and some yeast particulate floaties. Nose is spice, orange peel, yeast, granny-smith apples. Initial taste shows how high the carbonation is in this tripel. Lots of yeast, bubblegum, citrus, cloves, and tropical fruit. Very smooth and creamy rather than watery and acidic. Alcohol is perfectly hidden. Refreshing, not too light, and awesome! One of the first beers I ever fell in love with.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale golden yellow in color with heavy amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a two finger tall bright whit head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer evenly. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of light fruits, Belgian yeast, peppery spices, and lighter notes of floral hops.

T: Moderate to strong flavors of pale malts with some light fruit sweetness balanced with peppery spices and Belgian yeast. Additionally there is some candi sugar sweetness and just a hint of floral hops contributing a touch of bitterness that fades quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Very smooth (almost creamy) with lots of dryness in the finish.

O: Probably my favorite beer in the style (Tripel) and a great example of it... The alcohol is extremely well hidden making the beer quite easy to drink but I know it needs to be sipped or it really sneaks up on you. Definitely one to have again.

Poured from 750 ml bottle into snifter

Appearance – Pours a hazy orange-yellow color with a two finger white head. The head fades over a moderate amount of time to leave a lighter level of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is bready and yeasty with a strong citrus orange and tropical fruit aroma. Mixed with these stronger aromas are some spice notes of a coriander and clove smell. Overall very Belgian triple like.

Taste – The taste begins of a smooth bready flavor mixed with some tropical fruit tastes of mango, papaya and some tangerine/orange. As the taste advances, a yeasty flavor mixed with spice flavors of coriander, lemongrass, and clove come to the tongue. From there the spice and yeast grown stronger as the taste moves further forward with the sweeter fruit flavors losing some ground. In the end an alcohol flavor mixes with the rest to leave a warming bready spice flavor on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather complex and is really quite interesting and nice. It begins very smooth and creamy at the start with the carbonation level seeming relatively light. As the taste moves on the carbonation seems to explode from the brew within your mouth with the body crisping up. The smooth and creamy in the beginning are great for the bready and sweet that are heaviest up front, while the crisp and carbonated at the end are fantastic for accentuating the spice and booze. The feel is very nice, I must say.

Overall – A very tasty and enjoyable to drink beer. This beer has one of the best feels of any beer I have ever had, as it seems to match and complement the flavor transitions perfectly. This is definitely one to try.

Holy Cow... Go Quebec! This is a wonderful beer. Fruity nose, but with no cloying, too-sweet flavors. You get the pears and tropical fruit, but when coupled with gentle hopping the flavor profile mellows into a balanced, pleasant drinkability. The hazy appearance is lovely and golden. This is a great late summer beer. I will certainly get it again!

A: Pours straw colored with huge three fingers of white, airy head. Very good retention but minimal lacing.

S: Apple, pear, floral honey, hard candy, and malt. Pretty good complexity.

T: Sweetish malt, honey, fruity esters, jasmine and tons of floral notes, with a long, smooth honey and fresh citrus finish. Kind of an off taste on the finish.

M: Medium body and carbonation, slightly creamy, slight crispness.

O: It's an OK tripel, not that drinkable. The flavors don't really come together.

Appearance: rich, deep golden color, a white head that thins out but sticks around for a while
Aroma: a lot of aroma comes off of this guy, it smells complex and strong; fruit and a hint of spice notes come through mostly, smells very sweet
Taste: it starts sweet as it moves through some of the fruits and the grains; it has a bit of a hop and spice at the end there too; the aftertaste is pretty dry, maybe from the high ABV
Mouthfeel: it's pretty syrupy and coats the mouth more than Don or Trios did; it is thick; carbonated well;
Overall Impression: honestly, I was hoping for something more, and admittedly my expectation may have colored my impression of the beer; I love Belgian Ales and this was supposed to be a great one...it's just good; it's certainly not as sweet as it smells and not as sweet as some other Belgians that I have had, especially since it ends on a dry, bitter note that I am not wild about; it is complex, it has a richness of flavor; the best part of the taste is the middle, where some of the characteristics of a classic Belgian come out-but I think that the best part of the beer is how it looks...it looks perfect and pretty

La Fin Du Monde has a thin, fizzy, champagne-like, white head, and an initially clear, extremely bubbly, yellow-golden appearance, with a bit of lacing left behind. This beer really clouds up after one swishes and pours in the sediment. The aroma is of sweet, spicy, lightly bready malts, and the flavor is the same, with some sourness, grapefruit, sugar, hard candy, and spice cake (the taste of which grows after the swish & pour operation). Mouthfeel is light to medium, and La Fin Du Monde finishes mostly dry and pleasant. Alcohol is barely detected, and drinkability is super. Overall, this is a sure winner, and I think it is outstanding.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Golden yellow, very vibrant color with a huge haziness that makes the beer extremely opaque. Very volatile, leaving an enormous, cloudy white head. The nose hits with some cooking spices, cloves, fruits and fruity esters, and a slight medicinal background. The taste follows through with heavy clove and banana up front, all based on the background of warming alcohol. Bubblegum comes through midway, as well as faint grape and orange. As the beer starts to warm up, I could taste some pear and sweet peaches coming out, too. Aftertaste is left with a nice helping of yeast and malty-bready flavors, along with a dash of clove and alcohol.

This is a well done tripel ale. Balanced extremely well and fairly complex - load of fruits and esters can be picked out of this one. Sweet, without being too sweet, and fairly mild on the palate for a 9% ABV brew. Bravo.

Poured from a 335ml bottle to my snifter

A- straw golden color, almost like a glowing sunshine. Thick white head... keeps it shape as it grows out my glass.... dissolves to a thin cloud over the beer.

S- fruity earthy funk.... grassy mellow high lights thoughout the smell. Spicey aroma overall the dominate trait here...

T- fruity esters of tropical sunshine fruits... very earthy undertones, that would be the funk to the smell and taste to this beer.... spicey dominance in the after taste... well balanced like a fruit and cheese plate...

M- medium bodied, medium to heavy carbonation... bubbly like a fruity Brut Champaige. Moderate hop bit to control the complexity of this outrageous ale.

O- this is a tripel. A tripel that is brewed in Quebec, Canada. Now these are the most well known people to brew a Belgium to the rights of a standard Belgium tripel. This brewery holds the closest path to Belgium from America... you want a good Belgium?! Look for uniboure.... not a let down at the least!

From a 12 oz bottle (best before 12-13-14) into a tulip.

A-The beer poured a solid, shiny 3-finger head of off-white foam. The brew is yellowish gold and a little foggy with lots of visible streams of carbonation.

S-There is a delicious, yeasty, bready aroma with a little bit of citrus and banana fruit, nice spicy cloves, and a little alcohol heat. The smells blend wonderfully and make you want to drink it.

T-Taste follows the smell pretty closely, i.e., delicious yeast, french bread, lemony citrus and banana fruit with some well-integrated alcohol heat and clove spice. None of the flavors overwhelms another.

M-The beer is creamy with pretty significant carbonation. Well balanced and drinkable.

O-Fin du Monde remains one of my favorite beers of all time. Everything is just done so well...the smell, the flavors, the feel, c'est magnifique. if you are looking for a pale brew to sip on or pair with some cheese, look no further.

Bottle is dated "best before" 10-07-13

A: Pours a cloudy pale gold with a big fizzy white head adorning it. Fades slowly with good head retention. Oddly enough just slight bits of lacing here and there.

S: Crisp and refreshing aroma. Lots of citrus, mainly lemons with some orange. Grainy, yeasty bread with some black pepper in there. A hint of grass.

T: Fruity up front with more citrus. Lemon and orange for sure again. Hints of melon. Sharp yeasty spices, mainly pepper and cloves. Grainy bread and grass. Long lingering aftertaste with that spicy yeast.

M: Higher carbonation cuts it a bit but it's still fairly heavy.

O: An excellent and faithful example of the style. Crisp and refreshing. Excellent complexity while maintaining balance of flavors. Very strong belgian yeast presence - that one really stands out. Definitely seek this one out if that is your thing.

This may be my favorite tripel; perhaps because it doesn't taste like any tripel I've ever had before. I've been told that there is some wheat in the grain bill, which is uncharacteristic of the style.

Pours a hazy slightly golden color. Small head, nice lacing.

Smells faintly of belgian yeast mild fruit, not much belgian funk. Also some clove, maybe some orange peel and a touch of coriander?

The taste is the strongest part of this beer. The yeast unibroue uses is proprietary and it has all of the fruit and phenolics that you'd expect, but they're very subtle. I think I can taste a little bread and a touch of corinader. very little bitternes.

To me, this tastes like a hybrid between a tripel and wit. The alcohol is hidden and it's very easy to drink. One of my staples.

S: I find Belgians difficult to dissect because they're so complex yet simple. I get candy sugar, malt and a bit of barn/straw/funk. Fantastic is one word.

T: Wow. I've never been a big fan of this style but this is special. Malty, sweet, sugary, floral, fruity. A joy to drink.

M: Very sweet but not cloying. Bright, fresh, malty. Big carbonation.

O: This beer has been executed perfectly. While I'm not a regular drinker of Tripels, this makes me appreciate the style and helps me understand the intentions of other breweries when they attempt to brew one.

A- A cloudy golden composite. That is distinctive of a tripel. There is an ambivalence of character swirling throughout that is all brought together by a big clean head, making this one of the most sophisticated looking beers I have seen. The beer finishes with a nice deal of lacing as well.

S-Huge spicy nose that is highlighted by a lot of clove and a bit of sweeter scents (honey banana and cinnamon maybe a hint of nutmeg as well)

M-Nice mix between cream and carbonation to give the beer that much more character.

T-An absolutely fascinating blend of flavors. To me this is the perfect tripel, as it differentiates itself from the rest of the field. The abundance of flavors are impressive, but its the balance between all of them that amazes me most. Instead of being labeled as a tripel, it is simply La Fin Du Monde, a true work of art.

O-One of the best beers in the world, without question.

Long time drinker, first time reviewer.


The dryness and spicy, funky edge are what really detract from me saying: "this is the perfect tripel."
It's what's not there. The fruit I expect from a tripel is quiet. It's there in some ways, but I just love the big passionfruit and honey flavors some tripels have. Now, this has some beautiful sweetness; banana, heavy in body, and inexact, but nice . . . just not that golden raisin, nectar-like, champagne sweetness I want. Spicy, clove, coriander, funk are in control.

Okay, it's a great brew. I just like other heavy hitting tripels a bit better.

A: Pours a pale yellow sunrise. Nice cloudy haze. Very foamy white head. Champagne like carbonation provides plenty of bubbles.

S: Floral/spicy/lemon citrus/coriander & pepper

T: Yum! Fruity-nectarine, peaches, & mango. Spices/cloves/alcohol/sweet with a dry finish.

M: Clean finish

O: High alcohol content is cleverly masked by the potpourri of flavors.

Smells of fermenting fruit

Tastes of fermenting fruit and sweet (way to sweet )more of a cider taste than beer for me.But definatley more flavorful than macro brew. High abv is hidden well.Slightly tinney taste. But smooth going down.

Very carbonated but in a good way.

Mouth feel is smooth flavour dissipated quickly.

Overall OK. Would not purchase again as it is not my style. I am a hop head this brew was too sweet and reminded me of fallen fruit off a tree which is fermenting. Still more interesting than macro. And the abv kept me entertained
