750ml bottle corked and caged poured into corsendonk chalice on aug29 2009
A deep golden yellow, fairly hazy with some sediment. a gentle pour produces a massive fluffy head with good retention and a fair amount of lace
S big yeast and tropical fruit with an undertone of booze is what i get first. this is followed by a hefe smell of banana and clove with other spices, quite complex
T a little sweeter then it smells and i pick up some lemon, but other the that it tastes as it smells. as it warms the true complexity comes through and there's much more then i could ever describe
M i enjoyed the bottle bottom much more then the first pour. the carbonation fizzed out a bit and it was much smoother as it went flat and warmed up
D dangerously drinkable for 9%, and night and day between cold and warm with this one
this is the best value I've come across in alberta with no questions asked. unibroue should be proud of their strong ales they are world class right here in my backyard. warning if experiencing la fin du monde consume la fin du monde it wont feel as bad

I poured a bottle into a tulip glass.
Appearance- Slightly hazy golden color with two fingers worth of lingering, bubbly head. Fair amount of lacing.
Smell- Fruity sweetness, clove, and belgian yeast.
Taste- Juicy fruit sweetness that fades into a Belgian yeast and clove flavor.
Mouthfeel- On the light end of medium bodied, crisp, and slightly dry. Generous amount of fizzy carbonation.
Overall- A great tasting beer. I have been wanting to try this beer for a long time and I am really glad I finally got to.
