Ah, La Fin du Monde. I've held off reviewing because I have a really hard time separating out specific aromas and flavors with this one. We'll give it a go. Poured, as usual, into a Duvel tulip.
A - Hazy, burnt orange. A flat-topped 2-finger foam head forms and is retained very well, leaving nice, if somewhat spotty, lacing behind.
S - Citrus, baked bread, and slightly funky yeast, none of it overpowering.
T - Everything present in the nose is present here, but a touch more refined. Generic citrus becomes mild grapefruit and tangerine, the baked bread is now a piping hot wheat loaf, etc. Also there is a hint of cloves and black pepper, presumably from the yeast.
M and D - Creamy, medium body with consistent carbonation and a dry, slightly hot finish due to the otherwise-masked ABV. Very easy to drink.
This is a go-to, readily available beer, and I really like it, but I don't love it. Not at all sure why it rates as the best Tripel here, although it is markedly better than most US brewers' attempts at the style. Give me Westmalle or Cinq Cents any day. I need to proper reviews for those soon.

A - A hazy deep yellow with a white head that doesn't linger.
S - Smells slightly of bananas and spices. One of the best smelling tripels that I've had.
T - Spicy but not overpowering; the Unibroue yeast complements this beer nicely. Extremely balanced. I would not have guessed that this beer is 9% ABV.
M - You can definitely tell that this is a bottle-conditioned/refermented ale.
O - A fantastic tripel that's very easy to drink.

It comes in this gorgeous marigold and super hazy with a bit of orange. Little bubbles coming up in it and a head that quickly dissipated.
Bright Belgian yeast with big in your face orange with a lot of breadiness. A first there’s a fruity cherry flavor, peach, orange, tangerine, and Belgian yeast, then there’s a medium round breadiness and creaminess. Also some coriander and clove in there. It’s a very sweet and fruity tripel.
The finish is nice and clean.
It reminds me a lot of La Chouffe with its wonderful fruit and balanced breadiness. I had this blind taste tested with Westmalle and Chimay. This was first. One of the best tripels I’ve had. This is where you want to be if you want sweet and fruitiness for tripels. For more dry and vinous, Westmalle is where it's at.
