P:  Slightly hazy pale golden body with creamy eggshell froth that stays for a spell. 

S:  Smooth Belgian yeast, peaches, white grapes, apples and spicy clove. Subtle root beer aroma. 

T/M:  Medium velvety body with a delicious serving of just right carbonation. Taste is more dialed down than the nose but has pleasant yeast and ample fruitiness. The low alcohol content really let's the white grapes and orchard fruit shine and makes for a lighter tripel. Finish is dry with loads of clove and black pepper. 

O:  A great fruity tripel with excellent yeast and a low alcohol to make it smooth and easy drinking. This is no La Fin Du Monde but it's still another great tripel by Unibroue.

Corked and capped 750 ml bottle poured into a large snifter glass. This blessed beverage pours a lightly hazed golden orange with a fizzy cap of foam. Decent retention though a bit lighter than expected given the bottle conditioning. So so lacing.

Aroma is fruity of citrus and some spice, perhaps some wheat influence. Warming yields more wheat and some clove spice. Belgian yeast esters are present though subdued for a self proclaimed triple with regards to fruitiness anyway.

Flavors tend toward the lemony citric side of things vs. a more yeast driven beer. Finish is lightly coarse with pils malt and some hop spice. Belgian character is light. Noting 'best by' date of 8/14, I'm not sure of this bottles history. Warming does bring forth more of a firm witbier character as the aroma opens up a bit but surely not enough to capture. Think Vitus but not as robust. More wheat than yeast.

Feel is coarse and grainy. Touch of citric sweetness on the finish does mask the ABV well. Nose gets somewhat intriguing through the foam with warming yet this is hardly a Tripel.

Note: I have had this aged for one and two years, and unlike La Fin Du Monde, I find that this is a tripel best kept unaged.

More malt and yeast-driven and less fruity than its tripel brethren, Eau Benite is still a version of the style that hits all the right notes, but manages to contain itself to the basics and a lower ethanol content. This is an excellent option when I want the basic tripel flavor, but would prefer a lower-gravity beer.

Like most tripels, Eau Benite pours a very tall head of roughly 4cm, though unlike many other tripels, the head retention is for roughly one minute. The foam, which consists of very small bubbles and is fairly clean white in color, diminishes to a thin ring around the glass with some lacing clinging to the sides, a few sizable peninsulas rising up from the ring of foam, as well as a few large dots scattered around as well. The body is a deep, cool golden orange color, with light bringing out pale orange-yellow hues throughout the body. Carbonation is visible through the semi-transparent (60-70% opaque) body, though it is not particularly vigorous or high in quantity.

Aroma is of substantial Belgian yeast and its phenols; sweet, lightly caramelized and bready malts; fruit esters like apricot, dried pear, and slight pineapple. Good, but not as bold or complex as La Fin Du Monde.

Opens with bright, sweet malts with spicy Belgian yeast phenols and some dried apple and pear esters. Mid-palate is of sweet, lightly caramelized and bready malts with moderate Belgian yeast and light phenols, hints of banana, dried pear and apple, with mild pineapple. Back of palate picks up light, sweet pale and bready malts without much caramel character, mild Continental hop bitterness, dried pear and apple esters. Aftertaste is of lightly caramelized and bready malts, with moderate Belgian yeast and banana flavors.

Beer is medium-bodied, with carbonation of medium to medium-high intensity, resulting in a mouthfeel that is somewhat fizzy at first, but quickly quiets to a foamy and smooth flow across the palate. Closes semi-dry, with slight ethanol warmth in the nostrils and back of the throat.

A- mostly clear golden apricot in color with an awesome looking big poofy almost Snow White head. There's some minor spots of lace on the glass. Dense streams of tiny champagne bubbles rise right up the center of the tulip. Unibroue always nails the Belgian styles and this one looks like it's gonna be a banger.

S- yeasty fruity nose apricot and nectarines with some orange peel, melon, banana, papaya and pineapple. Clove and band aid phenols ride the waves of fruit. Sweet sugar cookie malt provides a solid foundation and swirling the glass releases a burst of floral citric hops like slightly bitter orange blossoms.

T- amazing balance of tart and sweet. Starts off with refreshing orchard fruit tartness, orange, apricot, red plum, pear, apple, then sweeter towards melon and banana and shortbread type malt flavors from added sugars. Light honey and vanilla flavor but mostly sweetened pilsner malt. Hops are lemony grassy and mild but assertively check against the sweetness. Finishes with remarkable balance, all at once sweet, bitter, tart, and grainy.

MF- much fuller than it looks and at 7.7% it feels more like 9.7%. The amped up body hides any feeling of alcohol and its tight bottle conditioned bubbles roll across the tongue. Immaculate dryness on the cheeks and lightly sticky lips makes this one a pleasure to take giant hits of. Soft juicy almost creamy body is just... Nice. Almost has the feeling of wheat proteins.

D- a modestly boozed tripel from Canada. I've had like 12 of their beers and these guys are no joke. They amaze me every single time with the best Belgian beer that's not made in Belgium (or Netherlands). This really is some holy water.. If tropical fruit has been steeping in it. Darn it where is my cheese!? This is a beer for double creme or idk something soft ripened or chevre. Killer broue.

A - This beer pours a very nice, cloudy orange body, with a pretty thick white head. Plenty of fine bubbles.

S - Even though this beer still has that typical Unibroue yeast smell, there are lots of complex fruity notes (apples, pears, white grapes) and a nice malt backbone to the aroma. Smells more like the great triples from Belgium than the typical Unibroue Belgian-style ales.

T - Starts out a little spicy, then transitioning into the world of fruity flavours (banana, some citrus, apples, a hint of pineapple and some almost wine-like white grape qualities). Solid malt backbone, with caramel, bread and honey. The finish reminds me of the great Belgian tripels, once again. This is a great tasting beer.

M - Effervescent but not overly carbonated body provides for a very smooth drinking experience. Medium-bodied, with barely any alcohol taste. In my opinion, this is one of the smoothest and most drinkable beers from Unibroue.

O - Although similar to its bigger cousin, the famous La Fin du Monde, this beer came to my liking more, because it is less yeasty and carbonated while being more fruity and drinkable, thanks to the relatively low ABV (for a tripel). It is unfortunate that this is so hard to find, because it could easily become my go-to tripel. A great beer to be sought.

Poured from large corked bottle into tulip. Pours a fantastic hazy golden slightly orange color with a finger of white head. Smells of perfect belgian yeast...sweet fruity apple and pear.
Taste is awesome. Sweet pear and apple belgian yeast...nicely spiced to balance. Wow really awesome.
Its a tad sweet but otherwise so pleasant and refreshing. Overall...its another amazing brew by unibroue. It just amazes me how good they are at such a low price and so widely available. This is a very under hyped triple imo. Go have one now.
