This lager pours great but it seems a little off in the aroma department. Not skunked or anythig but similar to a sock soaked in hop oil.
The taste and mouthfeel are about as average as could be. There is a little maltiness but that's about it. I am neither impressed or disappointed really. Very average.

I love the stubby bottle!
Pours a clear brilliant amber with a huge white head which holds. Malted more than I expected, but I'm not exactly sure what "Old Style Beer" means anyway. Hops are nice and crisp and don't attempt to steal the show. Mouthfeel is smooth, but seems almost too thick for the style. A solid lager by Unibroue.

This beer has grown on me to where I look forward to popping one to complement and give appetite to an ordinary meal. Not one of Unibroue;s noteable Belgiums for sure. Pleasant pale gold colour and mild form. A light sweetness like honeydew that lingers.

Bought at Marché du Boisé (boul. des Forges, T-R), 6/11/03, stored cool dark, 2600 miles in my trunk.
A big, coarse, cream-colored head sits on a clear, dirty-gold beer. Lots of fast carbonation. The smell is sweet, malty, lagery. A touch of metal in the lagery, sweetish front. Corn syrup middle leads to a bitter, dry finish.
It's a decent lager, but nothing awesome. The corn syrup reminds me of an NA.

NOTES: Cute little stubby bottle that is not a twist-off bottle, like most 12 oz unibroue offerings are, purchased for around $1us at a deli in quebec...nice:-) Apparantly this beer also comes in a unique 650ml bottle but I have yet to seen it for sale in that size...
Who would have thought thaat one of the best pilseners I have ever had would come from the Canadian brewery Unibroue. Unibroue, are known for their belgian style wonders, not old-style pilseners! None-the-less Unibroue scores with me again on this one. A clear golden liquid with a medium sized pilsener head is poured into my glass. The aromas are of hops, and malts. The taste is clean, palate cleansing, and oh-so refreshing. The mouthfeel is crisp, and fuller than most pilseners. The drinkability...wonderful!
another classic from Unibroue!
cheers!,
F.

Crisp and refreshing, this pils is a fine example of the style. Golden color with light, bready aroma. Good head with decent retention. Unibroue has something for everybody.
