I've been here many times before, but never done a review. Visited last Saturday on a weekend excursion to Brown County.
I've always loved the atmosphere of this place. A very old quaint building as is the norm in Nashville, there is porch seating for warmer months and a small dining room with a wooden bar inside as well.
Service was pretty good. Not amazing, but everything was right and our water glasses were kept full. I've almost always seen the owners lurking around too (although not this weekend) who are very nice and want to make sure everyone has a pleasant experience.
They generally have a few staples including Hare Trigger IPA, Busted Knuckle red and Tim's Big Wood Stout amongst a few other rotational offerings. My girlfriend got the stout and enjoyed it. I got a sampler of 4 including the stout which was my favorite, an IPA, pale ale and their seasonal imperial IPA. I didn't care much for the imperial IPA, but the other 3 were all easily consumed and enjoyed.
We ordered pork nachos as an appetizer which are absolute must get here. BBQ with a peppercorn ranch sauce are added to standard nachos. I got a buffalo chicken sandwiched using a nice plump chicken breast made on the outdoor grill with pepperjack and grilled onions. It was fantastic and I love the fact that it'd grilled not deep fried like most buffalo sandwiches.
All in all I'd recommend it. Probably the best food in Nashville and the beer has been steadily improving as well in the 5 years or so they've been open.

Was just here with some friends for a birthday evening. It was a Saturday night, so we had to wait a bit, but it was completely reasonable on the wait.
While waiting outside, they come and make sure you get drinks, which was great. I was fairly impressed with their beer variety for such a small place. As for the quality, well, I'll review that on the individual beers.
Once we got seated, the service was about average, had to remind our waitress about drinks and who specifically ordered what, but no big deal. The food was somewhat questionable. Our table had good reviews on the burgers and pizza. I had wings, and they were ok (grilled and several were burnt). Ans as I've read on here, they do prepare their food on a grill outside. It's an everyday grill you or I would have at home. They could do much better than this, but I suspect they do not have a chef on staff.
Overall, Big Woods allowed us all to have a fun night. Prices weren't bad at all, and the atmosphere was pretty enjoyable. Side note, there is a phone on top of the toilet in the bathroom, I checked to see if it worked, but it didn't. I was hoping it was in case you needed to call for more toilet paper.

Stopped by this little brewery on a trip to Brown County for mountain biking. I was pleasantly surprised to see the entrance fashioned as a lodge type building which added to the nostalgic character of Little Nashville. Upon entering the building I was a little deceived by the size of the dining area being only about 12 tables. This did not, however affect my view on the restaurant.
I got the spicy cheddar bacon burger with homemade cole slaw on the side. This was a fantastic meal and I literally ate the burger in about 3 minutes. Side note on the burger - they fix them on a consumer type grill outside of the restaurant which I thought was interesting...Maybe their kitchen grill was undergoing maintenance?
I also ordered a Busted Knuckle as it is their signature beer. This beer was fantastic! I will review it later as a beer. I then ordered a flight and was surprised to find that I didn't totally dislike their blonde beer (I typically hate light beers).
Overall, this is a must if you are in the Brown County area.

I had been bugging my wife to go to Nashville, IN since Big Woods opened. It was well worth the trip. It was a little bit hard to find as it was tucked back in an alley. The building is beautifully constructed and the interior provides a perfect setting for Brown County. there is not a whole lot of seating but we got there early so we got a seat at the bar. I had two stouts and a red. Both excellent but I really loved the Tim's Big Wood's Stout. The food was delicous and the service was outstanding. I recommend a stop or even a special trip.

Big Woods Brewing in Brown County, In. is a pretty awesome place. It is back in an alleyway essentially on the northside of town making it slightly difficult to find. The building looks like a log cabin. Inside there is about 8-10 tables, with seating at the bar for 6 or 7. Place is smaller than it looks. Food there is appetizers, chili, burgers, pizza. The pizza looks absolutely fantastic and is reasonably priced. Burgers offer much of the same for around 8-9 bucks.
The beer, while I was there they had pale ale, india pale ale, an irish red, and a stout. By far and away the stout was absolutely amazing. Tim's big stout is the name. Fantastic. Runs you 4.75 for a pint so a little pricey, but for the town and atmosphere I didn't mind. They do offer growlers as well.
The atmosphere there is amazing. The owners are visible and there alot, they will sit next to you and talk to you and you get a real insight into what they are trying to accomplish. I loved this place and will make visits yearly to the Big Woods.
