Six Foot Blonde is a light-bodied, approachable beer that is malt oriented and easy-drinking. Because this style lacks an aggressive flavor profile, it is a gateway to the craft beer world for many. Six Foot Blonde earned Quaff ON! Brewing Co. a silver medal at the 2018 Indiana State Fair Brewers’ Cup.

The name is great, but the beer itself isn’t. I have to qualify my review by admitting that I’m not the world’s biggest blond fan, but there are some that I really do like, and objectively this one is pretty mediocre. I’d say “it’s fine”—kind of like how my wife says “it’s fine” when she isn’t exactly mad but not exactly happy either.

L: Pale straw hue with a thin head of good retention and temporary lacing.
S: Not sure who could find no aroma in this brew. It is biscuity, with strong lemongrass, grassy hops & spices: red and black peppercorns and ginger.
T: Following the nose with more biscuits and a spot of Belgian yeast.
F: Thin overall even for a blonde. Good carbonation.
O: Not on-point for style but in my opinion a pretty good beer.

Appearance: Pale golden, with an average white head but no lace.
Aroma: Malty, grainy, and subtle.
Taste: Sweetly malty up front. A wee bit of hops but overall a really light and easy-drinking ale. Not great but not bad.

First had Six Foot Blonde at Big Woods Pizza/Quaff ON!, Nashville, Indiana, on draft into tumbler. Easy-drinking but with enough malt flavor to give interest before a clean finish.

From the bottle.
There was no head and light carbonation, a little bit of lacing on the top. The beer is hazy and very pale in color. The first smell I got was of sulfur immediately after pouring, but that faded slowly to just sweet light malt smell. I don't really get the hops in the nose at all. The taste is very pleasing, it almost reminds me of a kolsch that I had while I was in Germany, but not quite as clean. The taste tends towards the malt, the bitterness just sort of brings it towards balance but nothing substantial there. It feels a little thin to drink but it coats the front of my tongue, nothing lingers in the back of my mouth. Overall it is a good beer if you are going to sit down and have a few, I place it at a touch above average craft blondes.
