Solid stout. Goes well with food or alone on a cool fall evening. If you in the know and at the brewery ask for a Big Woods Stout float. Has a nice full body, but not too heavy.

On draft at Big Woods.
Pours jet black with a thin off-white head leaving good retention.
Chocolate with strong roasted malt aroma. A touch of earthiness.
Similar flavors although roasted malt is more dominant than the chocolate. Heavily roasted malt almost coffee like at times with some cocoa in the background.
Very thin mouthfeel, not unexpected for the 4.5% ABV, but detracts a bit from the flavors nonetheless. Finishes fairly dry.
I really like the flavors of this one and it's probably my favorite Big Woods offering, however I'd like to see what they could do to this one pumping up the body a bit to the 6-7% ABV range. I think it'd be a killer brew with just a bit more heft.

A - pitch black pour with a thin head that stayed around forever.
S - chocolate, hints of alcohol -- surprising for a 4.5%!
T - strong malt and alcohol up front. Light body for the style.
M - creamy with a dry finish.
Overall a very good stout, and extraordinarily drinkable.

Tim's Big Stout is my favorite beer I have ever had. It is brought with just about a half to quarter finger of head after the pour. It is black in color. The taste is creamy and rich. There is almost no smokiness to the beer if there is even any. It goes down super smooth with no bitterness, and a creamy aftertaste. This is a super good beer. I could drink 3 at a sitting or bring home a growler. It's just awesome. I can't wait to have it again.
