A very welcoming and knowledgeable staff will help you navigate through the great beer and wine selections. They have quite a large selection in a small footprint of a store. Usually there are two beers on draft for you to choose from whilst you shop. If you have a special order for beer or wine they will do their best to get it for you. Also, their keg selection is second to none in Gainesville. Especially since they keep torpedoes of all Swamp Head Brewery's year-round brews on site. There are also gourmet and local cheeses available along with other chocolates.

Support your local owners and breweries by stopping in!

I've been buying my beer and wine at Tipples Brews exclusively for some time now. I go back because they have a great selection of both beer and wine (as well as a smaller cheese/cigar/hotsauce/gourmet chocolate lines as well) in addition to their stellar customer service.

The coolers are pretty evenly split between American craft beer and European imports, though they have selections from other regions too (Africa, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & Japan come to mind). They have the mainstay craft beers on their shelves, but they're always on the lookout for new craft beer and go to great lengths to secure seasonal and rare releases. With something like 500+ beers to choose from, the 4 draft taps with local beer (Swamphead & Cigar City are most frequently poured), you have something to do while you shop. From time to time they offer a free pint on draft for customers while they shop.

As far as wine goes, I can't remember buying something here that my wife didn't enjoy. They rotate their selection to include wines with solid ratings, and usually have a bottle or two open for samples. They have wines from the big regions that you'd expect, but also some boutique wines as well.

Matt & Cale are both experts in the wine/beer worlds. They're happy to make recommendations and selections and they'll order exactly what you ask for. Beer might be more challenging due to the three tiered distribution system, but they'll do what they can.

Their prices are reasonable - you can get a great mixed 6 selection for under $10! Often their prices are more competitive than the local supermarkets (although they don;t stock much of the same selection in beer, and if a wine is sold in a supermarket, you can almost guarantee that you won't find it in Tipples unless you ask for it). Most of their beer is available for sale in singles as well as six packs. They have a vast selection of bombers at room temperature. They have other merchandise as well - glassware and some t-shirts. If they're given promotional material, they willingly and happily distribute!

I don't think I'll buy my beer or wine at any other store in Gainesville as long as I live here and as long as they remain open. I'm a huge advocate of supporting local small businesses and if you're looking for a place with a great atmosphere, then Tipples is the place for you.

I just moved to Gainesville and needed to get some tasty brews to help make the unpacking go better so I turned to my trusty beer advocate to research the best place around. Just for kicks I read the other reviews and was glad that I didn't pay too much attention to the first review I read that gave them a B minus. Honestly, I can't imagine a better place for beer...not only does it carry to most variety, but they seem to be careful in selecting only the best stuff so that no matter what you try (yes, you can buy individual bottles and drink them in the store!!!), it's sure to be great brew. They also have 4 taps of some really unique beer that they pour you a pint of while you're looking around...way too cool. Go now...you won't regret it!

p.s. - try the PumKing ale from Souther Tier, it's fantastic!

Gainesville premeiere craft beer shop. Where do I begin. Lets start off with that its 5 minutes from my house therefore I pop by here all the time. They keep customers updated via facebook and I run over whenever something cool comes in. The shop is beutiful, a bit small, but the best looking shop ive ever been to to tell you the truth. They also have 4 taps and usually have some rare cigar city on tap along with unusual local swamphead brews. The staff is sooo helpful and friendly. They really know their beers. You ask them one question about a beer and they know everything and will make tons of great reccomendations. They also have no problem looking stuff up. Also they are knowledgable in wines as 1/3 of the store is devoted to fine wines and cigars. I just wish the shiop was a little bigger to vamp up the sleection.(this is the only reason its not gettting a perfect 5 rating) But they only carry top notch stuff. Im not into Belgians but damn their selection is crazy. If you stop into town this is hwere you want to go buy craft beer... PERIOD!

This place is awesome!! Not only can you find a HUGE selection of beers, a very large selection of wine, some cigars, glassware and a handful of unique foods, not to mention their own hot sauce line (which is pretty incredible). I am partial to the beer myself, but I have tried the sauces and a few of the other items as well.

Tipple's is one of those places where it is just great to hang out after work and look around and perhaps have a beer on tap while you shop for other beers in the store. That's right! a beer and wine store that has beer on tap while you shop for beer!! Most of the beers on tap are local but there is always something good.

Tipple's place is clean. I am not particularly picky about it but most of the beer stores I used to go to I could not bring the other half. On a side not, it is doubly nice because while I ogle the beer she can scout out the wine selection.

Tippel's will open what you purchase and let you enjoy it in the store. Not too many places will let you do this and it gives a person another chance to enjoy the selection. Enjoying while you browse can enhance the chance at one of the guys coming up with more stuff you may like. If you did not like a beer and only had a single they can point you in the way of a beer more along your tastes.

Tippels is always getting new stuff in. If I am looking for something different I can search around quite a bit but if I go to Tippel's I know that I will find SOMETHING there. They get seasonal in as well as a constant flow of local and small batch brews circulating thought the store. The guys who own this place are open to suggestions and always have helpful comments on what you might like.

Tippels also hold the occasional event. I think that any place that sponsors a beer run get some extra points, as does any place with a similar X factor.

In conclusion Tippel's is a perfect place to go and get a six pack or enjoy a beer or tap or even a single from a bottle after work. It is worth a visit just for the experience.

Been coming here once a week or more for about a year. Why do I keep coming back even though it's much further from my home than other places?

Well, to start, there's the two rotating beers (usually local) on tap that I can drink as I shop. I've discovered a couple new brews that way.

There's the fact that about half the store is devoted to wine with some cheese and Vosges chocolate. The lady vapodge really likes this side of the store.

Most everything that gets distributed to the area you will find here. I have found a beer or two elsewhere in town at another store that wasn't carried at Tipple's, but this is not common. You're MUCH more likely to find stuff here that you can't get elsewhere.

The prices are comparable to other places in Gainesville. Sometimes they're a tad higher, sometimes lower. There's certainly no gouging going on here.

If you want something, they'll try to get it. If they get something they think you'll like, they'll let you know. In other words, they're nice. And helpful.

And so is the clientele. Beer conversations are often going on between strangers and friends alike here. Recommendations, homebrew tips, and brewery travel stories are always being shared. To me, that's what truly sets it apart from other stores in the area.

You know how Tom Waits is known as a musician's musician? Well, Tipple's is kind of like that for beer lovers. Once you discover it, you'll be a better, happier, savvier person. But this is not to say this place is for the elite.
Thing is, Tipple's is a whole lot more accessible to the novice -- they gladly help folks that don't know what they're looking for after asking a couple questions regarding their tastes.
The difference is there's no gruff voice to get past.

The guys here are extremely nice, and very helpful. Seem to always have good answers to my ever-burning questions. The prices are pretty good, and the selection is definitely one of the better in this area. Things I haven't seen at other local shops, like the Rogue SX collection and carried Rochefort Abbey ales when they came through. They had growler fills but got shut down for state reasons (not their fault), but now serve Swamp Head on tap. A little out of the way of my house, but work near. It's worth the trip!
Also have a good selection of wine!

I've been shopping here from near their begining (as soon as fellow BA vapodge told me about it) and still have a couple growlers waiting for the stupid laws in Florida to change... I go a few times a week.

The price is in line with other places around Gainesville but the service is second to none.

Half the store is devoted to wine and cheeses, their own hot sauce and the other half is beer with a wall pretty packed with coolers. There are also two taps stocked with a bunch of local stuff and whatever else they can get their hands on!

If you're in town and want more than the typical college packie, head on over to Tipple's, it's totally worth the trip to Haile.

I go here fairly frequently. They have an Excellent selection of beer with most all of the seasonal and special releases from breweries that distribute in the area. You'll find what you want here for sure.

The guys that work there seem really nice and always will answer questions you have about anything. No complaints whatsoever about the service.

The prices of everything are very good. The nice thing about the beer is that it is all sold as singles too, so picking up one or two of something new is very inexpensive.

Parking is great, no bums to harass you like at different local beer store! It's in a very nice area, which is likely out of the way for many Gainesvillians.

Love it, need more stores locally like it.

I love tipples. It is my favorite place in Gainesville to buy beer. The selection is great, the workers are very helpful and knowledgeable. They also have a nice selection of wine, and you have got to love new beers on draft every week that you can enjoy in the store while you shop. I also enjoy all the glassware you can purchase at this store. Tipples was the first place i purchased a beer when i turned twenty one and i will keep coming back as long as i am in Gainesville. For me this place will always be apart of my college experience. Truly a great place for beer lovers
