I was in Huntington Beach waiting for some family for dinner elsewhere so I figured I'd pop in and grab a pint.
They had 4 regular taps:
Huntington Beach Blonde
Pier Pale Ale
Brickshot Red
Golden Bear Brown
none of those particular appealed to me but the specials, TTTripel (yes it had that many "T's") and the Schwartz Black Lager, did. I order up the tripel. It was ok, definite thin in taste and fullness. I wasn't impressed. I got a call from my family and they in town. So I drank about half of it and took off.
I guess I'd give one of their other brews a shot, but, to be honest - I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

This place is right in downtown HB on the drag where you can walk to the pier. It's upstairs and has a nice patio.
There's a decent size bar with the tanks behind it. In the center is a huge fire place that is pretty cozy in the winter months. The rest of the area has well spaced tables and there's a good amount of TV's to see your favorite sports.
The crowd is pretty much your laid back beach crowd and some locals. Good easy going people coming back from the beach. The atmosphere is very casual and you get a good dose of eye candy from all the girls in their bikinis, cut-offs, etc.
The food is pretty tasty, hot and I was served pretty quickly in which i was surprised because it was pretty crowded. As far as beer goes, I guess you have to read the reviews to get a sense of how they are but overall i'm not impressed. Selection would be okay if they werent out which seems to happen pretty often. When they do have all their beers, they're not bad, but nothing to write home about.
This is a fun place to hang out and get something hot to eat but not good if you want to drink good beer. Reminds me of the Tustin Brewing company in that sense.

Stopped by for a drink on a very rainy Monday evening. As expected there weren't many people and they were getting ready to close. Ordered the sampler - beers were all very solid examples of the styles they represented. Particularly enjoyed the Pale and Weissbiers. The menu looked tasty but we had just come from dinner. Inside the place has a nice stone look with a good sized fireplace, and the brew kettles all located directly behind the bar. All in all a nice place to grab a pint - especially when you can actually take advantage of the nice patio area.
3/14/05 - After another couple trips to this brewpub, I had to come back and edit .. and not in a good way. The last two times I have been there they have only had 3 brews on tap. Tonight I tried the Brickshot Red and the Pier Pale, and both were thin, lifeless, and tasted off. Service has ranged from mediocre to indifferent.

Nice place to have a pint, I particularily like the blonde ale. This place is one main street, where there is plenty of places to drink and enjoy the scenery. This place has a nice balcony to watch life go by. Nothing is spectactular as a brew pub, just your average selection of pub grub and decent brew pub beers. Although at the beach all you need is decent because of the quality of your sourroundings. I ordered a few kegs from this place when I lived in huntington beach and the service was great, They even delivered a keg when my roomates and I under estimated how much people would like the beer. Nice place to have a beer..

Upstairs brewery located on the main entertainment drag in Huntington Beach, which is a pretty happening spot. Right across the street from one the Pizza chains that brews beer (oggi's maybe ?) Anyway, place has a nice bar and brewing equipment and holding tanks located right behind the bar. Very nice outdoor patio and 4 person tables located throughout. Live music was on the night I was there and it was some really good upbeat jazz, very nice. Fireplace was lit and given the fog that rolled in it was a nice touch. Line-up of beers was standard microbrewery fair although a red stood out to me. Staff was short but courteous and providd a few smaplers gratis. Pretty nice place that I would try again if circumstances ever put me in the area again.
