Beautiful dark copper color. Adequate head in the Duvel tulip, but it makes a nice foam with every small pour. Slight fruity aroma with some grainy smell. Pleasant beery mouthfeel with some substance to the body.

Rather malty with moderate sweetness. Dark, gummy, resiny, and a touch of burnt molasses. Some caramel adds a friendlier tone. The dirty hops are not to my liking, but they are more of an accent, and there is not too much actual bitterness. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Whole Foods in Chandler.

Deep, coppery-amber and mostly clear. Little head formation and less retention.

Smell is deep toasty malts, sweet and complex. Clean smell, no fruit. Hops, if present, not detected by this nose.

Flavor up front is round, sweet malt, like the nose. Toasty, light alcohol warmth. Finish does not stay too sweet: moves to an attenuated but not completely dry finish. Subtle spicy hop flavor and very mild bitterness detectable in lingering finish.

This seems to be a pretty solid entry for the style. I would like to enjoy it in liter form at the brewery!

A - Beautiful amber in color with a perfect white head. Was served on tap in the 32 oz stein, just the way it should be.

S - Sweet malts and breads. Hint of vanilla.

T - Delicious! Pretty much exactly what I want in a marzen. Very malty and sweet. Perfectly balanced flavor. Why can't we get these beers all year!

M - Medium body with light carbonation.

O - Awesome work from Sudwerk. I'm really glad I was recommended this beer. Not sure if you can get it in bottles but would love to have some to drink at home.

the beer seemed to be very carbonated but had a very good tan color to it. was a very sweet beer when i first tried it it reminded me of the candy rolo's. im more of a bitter beer kind of guy but its a very drinkable and smooth beer. the head of the beer disappeared almost completely after pouring it. all in all i would definitely buy this beer around october.

Poured into a Mug.
A- Amber/iced tea in color. Thin head. Somewhat hazy, but a light carbonation is visible.

S- Malt. Sea salt. Candied sweetness. Chocolate with a touch of vanilla.

T- Sea salt yet again, but with a touch of malt, hops, and bitter choclate at the finish. As it warms the brew takes on a more chocolate forward taste.

M- Light bodied bordering on medium.

O- Not bad by any means. A good Marzen, just not my favorite.

Poured into a tulip glass. Amber color with a half finger of head.
Nose full of grain, barley, malt and honey. Rich smelling, just like it should be.
Rich taste too. Malty, sweet, a biting bitter at the end.
Crisp, moderate carbonation and medium bodied.
The taste and the body are excellent. The combination of the malty taste with the crisp body create an amazing experience. After four years of living and drinking my way through Germany, I can confidently say this is probably the best non-Bavarian Oktoberfest beer that I have had.

Pours a clear copper orange with a 1 inch tan head that settles to a thin cap. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grains, caramel, and some grape juice aromas. Taste is of grains, caramel, grape juice, and some citrus zest on the finish. Mild bitterness on the palate after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp yet smooth mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good Oktoberfest beer that I like much better than the normal Sudwerk Marzen. Packs a bigger punch with a higher ABV as well.
