Had this one at the source on a past ticking trip to Asheville! Was called 'Kaptain Kölsch' when I visited. Served from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured golden yellow with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, earth, wheat, fruit hop, and earth hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, fruit, metallic, earth, earth hop, banana, and fruit hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. For the style this realy wasn't too bad, however it just did not stand out at all unfortunately. Most of the proper flavors were there but they were so light and muted that it made it difficult to pick up on some of them which was rather unfortunate. Really wish this one would have brought its A-game as it definitely had potential.

stopped in here for lunch while i was getting my car serviced at the dealer an had a few new offerings. this was the least interesting of the bunch.
Poured was a pale golden yellow with a huge white head. The smell was actually ok, with hints of some fruitiness in there and a slight grainey toned. The flavor was actually, quite suprisingly decent though uninspiring. This was not bad at all. Lots of light fruit with a big carbonated feel and light cereal and earthy grains to balance it out.
overall i really find the style uninteresting, but it was not terrible. just wish it had a little more depth and not so heavy on the pear and apple notes.
