Poured ice cold into a Sam Adams glass. Nice bright white 2" head.
Almost clear bright yellow orange color and good carbonation.
Smell was lightly piney and slightly citrusy, with a medium bite at the end.
Smooth and medium bodied. Defintiely improved as the beer warmed up.
I'd have another!

Poured from the bottle to a standard shaker. With a vigorous pour this beer produces a fairly pale amber color like dull gold jewelry with a tall 3cm of frothy white head. The color sort of lacks any real luster and seems a bit flat. Light penetration is high. Head dissipates rather quickly, but leaves good lacing on the glass. The smell is rather malt forward for an American pale. There is strong biscuit and white bread on the nose. There is some mild citrus in the form of orange and maybe some grapefruit juice, but it's rather muted; smells good over all though. The taste has more of the white bread and warm biscuit flavor with a mellow citrus and bitterness on the palate. Palate overall is medium, carbonation is good. Seems like a good session beer. Overall, this beer is pretty good, but definitely not the equal to Back Forty's other beers I have had.

A: Pours deep golden, crystal clear with a thin off-white head that has good retention.
S: Light biscuity malt scent with a touch of hops.
T. Mild and light on hops for style
M: Thin to medium body; lively, medium level of carbonation.
O: a rather drab, malt-forward version of APA style.

A - That all too familiar shade of yellow; however, has a nice white cap that retains and laces well.
S/T - Fairly subdued. Pale malts, sweet caramel, just enough pine hops to give it a kick of bitterness without much flavor.
M - Medium/light body, medium carbonation, fairly smooth and clean.
O - Seems like a house pale ale brewed for the masses. Not too bold, didn't stand up to the bbq well at all.

A-Pours a hazy golden brown color with minimal head and poor retention. No lacing.
S-Very hoppy in the nose. Sour fruits become more profound along with yeasty bread dough.
T-Semi-bready. Very sweet up front but finishes off with notes of yeast and ester. Sweet fruits (pears) become profound as well in the layered finish
MF-Crisp on the palate with a dry finish
O-Pretty good brew. It's unique and more bready than most pale ales and is layered nicely with sweet pears. The finish is underwhelming but this is definitely worth a try if you have the means. I'm looking forward to buying it again.

Poured into a snifter
A: Clear light gold with not much head and light lacing.
S: Piney hops, grapefruit and citrus.
T: A pleasant hop bitterness with slight malt background that makes it easy to drink. Smooth, well balanced.
M: Light to medium with medium carbonation.
O: A good stepping stone IPA. Sessionable.
