Amazing Beer selection. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Often have local breweries on premise giving samples and sharing information. Today it was Franconia Brewery, from McKinney, TX. I often enjoy their Kolsch, but I learned today that they are now bottling an IPA that was previously only available on draft. Sample was amazing so I picked some up!

Again, great selection, great prices and great staff.

Spent 7 days over Christmas 2013 in Flower Mound and stopped by here almost every damn day. I love this place. Great selection and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I spent enough money that the wife is still pissed. Can't wait to visit again. If this place was in Iowa I'd be broke.

A great little beer store. I can't believe I literally drove by this place all the time for many years, without ever realizing the great selection of craft beers hidden away inside. Heck, the only reason I found this place at all was because I randomly stumbled upon their twitter, googling one beer or another that had just arrived in DFW, trying to find a place to find it.

As it turns out, this modest little gas station stocks one of the best selection of craft beers in the whole area. While the owner himself isn't that into craft product, the manager won him over once he started showing him the numbers they were selling of craft versus BMC. Pretty cool!

Anyway, the employees are generally very knowledgeable, a few more so the others, and always happy to talk beers with you. If you know a beer they don't have, or have got information, back story or anecdotes about a beer, they love to hear them. I've spent a lot of time just chatting with their employees about the products they stock.

More importantly, their selection rocks. If a beer is available in DFW, Chances are they're going to have.

Sure, plenty of folks have Jester King Black Metal now...But I bought it at Whip In from the very first, super-limited shipment. While everyone else was rushing around trying to find it, Whip In Flower Mound was quickly stocking a case's worth of bottles on the shelves.

Last time I checked, about a week ago, they still had some six packs of Divine Reserve 11 in, as well.

They stock everyone Stone ships to the area, they stock everything by Mikeller that's available...They'd stocked Black Metal, Wytchmaker, Divine Reserve, and many, many more beers. They had Abyss as soon as it arrived, and they had a lot of it. Plucky of Lucky Bastard, Double Bastard, and Belgo OG. All sorts of belgian products, Gouden Caralous Cuvee Van De Kaiser Blau, the entire St Bendardous Line up, even seasonal Belgians like Scaldis Noel Premium ( The 13% version)

Basically, as soon as it hits the area, they're going to get it. And since they're not that well known, a lot of their stuff stays available for a long time.

Not everything always lasts that long because they do have a small contingent of loyal customers always looking for the newest, and hardest to find beers. For example, even though they got plenty of Abyss, it only lasted a few weeks. Still that's longer then it lasted in many other places.

If I had to make a complaint about the place, I'd say it's that they don't have enough cooler space. Many of their beers end up sitting on non-refrigerated shelves, and if no one's buying them, they're going to sit there for a while. Rogue XS Imperial Stout, for example, which they still have. It's the same complaint I had about Halls before they became a full liquor store.

But it's only a minor complaint, and I've had no problems whatsoever with their beers.

Highly recommended store.

I regularly visit this place. I'm not really that close to any one great beer store, so I rotate the ones I like, & this one's in my regular rotation. Every time I go, I'm able to spot something new that I haven't tried before. They have quite a variety. Definitely the best selection for their area, the north central side of the DFW metroplex. (Plano & Carrollton have some great stores, but that's much farther east than where I'm at, & I just don't want to make the drive most of the time.) Their business card says 480+ beers & 175+ wines. I suck at estimating that by looks, but suffice it to say they are focused on good beer.

I have no idea about the service. Usually someone asks me if I need help, & I say no, because well...I usually already know what I'm looking for. And a lot of the time I just want to see everything that's been added since the last time I was there. They have macros too, but it's mostly the good stuff. I have no idea about the wine - going there for beer.

One neat thing about this place is that they have a Facebook page that is updated regularly. (I can't link it due to reviews not being able to have HTML, but it can be easily found by doing a search for Whip In Flower Mound.) When they get new beers & wines, they post exactly what comes in. They also do tastings, though I haven't been to one yet.

Prices are fairly reasonable. Not as expensive as Hall's, but if you're going to get something here, make it something you won't see for a few bucks cheaper at a store like Central Market. Most stuff is in the area of reasonable, & I do shop around.

A downside is that a fair amount of the beer is not in coolers. The good thing is that it's just a little bit of each beer, so it probably gets sold / rotated out fairly often. I've never had a bad beer from here.

If you live in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.

While many stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area are steadily stocking their shelves with beer that doesn't taste like bottled water, Whip In in Flower Mound truly sets itself apart with an incredible selection of craft beers.

Claiming to offer over 500 different beers, I headed to Flower Mound in search of a large liquor store only to find a small gas station bearing the Whip In name. Walking in apprehensively, I saw the coolers in the back filled with beer. At first, I saw a nice selection of Shiner, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, etc; nothing special. However, after browsing further, I found the selection to be very extraordinary for a gas station with offerings from Rogue, Great Divide, Breckenridge, Descuettes, Stone, and dogfish head just to name a few breweries.

But what truly sets this place apart was when I turned around from the refrigerated cases to find a 20 ft + aisle stocked with singles and sixers of even more beer! While many were American crafts, there was a huge selection of German and Belgium beers; many of which I have never even heard. Furthermore, if for some reason you were unable to find what you were looking for, I was informed that I could request whatever it is I wanted and the owner would look at ordering some.

As far as price is concerned, I paid 10 bucks for a 650ml bottle of the Espresso oak aged Imperial stout from Great Divide... a price comparable to another store that had a selection from that brewery. However, a six pack of more mainstream Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was $9-10 ...a few dollars more than I typically have seen at other stores. My guess is that when you go to a small store providing you with 500+ beers, you're going to pay a small premium.

All things said, I feel like I have reached "beer nirvana" with this find and highly recommend you stop by and support this phenomenal establishment.
