Pours copper haze with khaki bubbly head. Red notes with a bitter backbone and heavy metal flare. Good DIPA.

Orange/red color. Thick, foamy head. Hop and orange peel aroma with a taste profile that matches. Well balanced and quite smooth. Great West Coast IPA. Don’t notice the alcohol that much for an Imperial IPA

500 mL bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Deep amber in color, clear, with a small head that quickly recedes.
S: Boozy bouquet, floral, with lots of orange pith and grassy notes
T: The orange aspect leads the charge, with bitter hops right at the front of the sip. Really bitter and grassy, with strong notes of unsweetened, earthy tea. Sugary malts kick in, but they don't really offset the bitter hops. Long finish with sticky, lingering bitter residuals between sips.
M: Seems a bit viscous for the style, full bodied. Not the easiest to drink.
Nothing special here. The hops used an amarillo, cascade and nelson...I pick up the first two, but I don't taste any nelson here at all. The floral overtone gives this a sort of northwest-style to it, but it's just not that remarkable.

Picked up a bottle of this and the Black Sand to compare. Poured into a tulip glass while helping my daughter unpack at her dorm. First impression was very spicy. Nice head. Smoothed out after a few minutes. Nice 2IPA. I'll get this again next time in SoCal.

Poured into a pint glass.
3.75 A: Lightly hazed light orange color. Two fingers of pillowy beige head. Retention is good and a short ring of lacing is left.
3.5 S: Surprisingly spicy hoppiness. Followed by herbal and piney hops and peach and papaya fruitiness. Moderate caramel maltiness with biscuit and just a touch of bready yeastiness.
3.25 T: Tastes like it smells. Hops are - in decreasing strength - spicy, piney, herbal, citrusy. Again lots of peach fruitiness. A touch of vegetables. Caramel and biscuit malts.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lightly creamy and smooth.
3.25 D: Decent overall, but does have a touch of off-flavor and it pretty average otherwise.

Super tasty IIPA! The caramel malt was just the perfect amount where it was noticeable without being especially sweet. The aroma on this beer is heaven. If you haven't tried it, try it. I'll definitely be picking this up again! Cheers
