Decent beer, very sweet though. Mine was on tap at a nearby restaurant.. I only ordered it after my first two choices were out. Served in a proper glass, at an appropriate temperature. My biggest complaint (besides the sweetness) would be the level of carbonation. I didn't think it was carbonated enough at all. Not sure if this is typical, or a product of the tap.

Bottled 12/2012.
5.2% ABV per the label.
Pours a slightly hazy dark orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, fruit, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some solid aromas and flavors.

A: A medium amber with an orange hue and great clarity. The persistent head pour a finger of off-white creamy foam with some big bubbles.
S: The aroma is pretty malty with a a bit of earthy and spicy hops aroma; having a medium-strong malt aroma with a notes of biscuit and caramel. The hops aroma is moderately-low and the esters are low and very Belgiany more British ale like fermentation character.
T: Malty and fruity having a medium-strong malt character with flavors of caramel, biscuit and toast. The is a medium amount of light colored fruit like Nectarines and oranges. There is a medium amount of spice what seems like a medium-low portion coming from the hops and a bit more from the yeast. The hops also add and earthy flavor. The alcohol brings bi additional sweetness
M: Soft and creamy with a medium-full body and a moderately-strong level carbonation.
O: A malt driven beer with some spice; it's like a British Ale rubbed elbows a Belgian brewer. It's an unexpected and little brewed Belgian style. If you approach this beer expecting a typical Belgian you might not be too impressed unless you get it not tap where it is truly sublime.

Dark amber color and made 3 fingers of head, thick with good retention that left marks in the tulip glass.
Nice mild aroma of malt and herbal hops, some sulfur notes. Good carbonation with medium bubbles.
Elegant and flavorful taste, balancing malt sweetness and caramel with a mild bitterness from its hops and a hint of condiments. Slightly dry and malty aftertaste that comes right a way.

(Served in a strange)
A- This beer pours a clear slightly dense dark copper body with a lumpy oatmeal grey head that is supported by a strong carbonation of microbubbles
S- The soft fruity note from esters fades to a hop note but it is pretty clean. As the beer opens there is a white plastic aroma that grows.
T- The dry flinty hops have a clean lagered taste and a soft canned fruit note to a dry finish. There is a hop pungency that lingers but it fades as the beer opens.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a crisp carbonation.
O- This is a very interesting beer with nice hop notes and some interesting fruity notes packaged in a pretty dry dark lager. The aftertaste does get a bit bitey even though the hop flavor fades. There was no date stamp on this bottle so I will have to try this on tap if I can find it for comparison.

Brown bottle of 330 ml, poured into a tulip glass. Light amber colour, with a thin, maybe one finger, head, off-white in colour, with low retention.Very light lacing left behind. No activity in the glass.
Aroma is mostly of malts, some caramel, a bit fruity and some light traces of alcohol, although it's only a 5,2% beer.
Mostly caramelized malts on the taste.Very slight bitterness at first, becomes more intense and dry on the finish, plus some acidity on the aftertaste.
Medium on the body, highly carbonated.
Good beer, a bit too expensive for what it offers.

Poured from a bottle into a Bell's tulip. The pour is a lovely reddish-amber color with a thinner head than I expected. Toasty, biscuity nose with a touch of floral hop notes and some fruity esters, primarily cherries, pears, and apples.
Light to medium body. Fruit and malt sweetness predominates. Toasty, nutty flavors up front that develop to apple, pear, and banana notes at mid-palate. Finish is fairly sweet with a hint of pepper. No alcohol presence at all. Exceptionally well-balanced.
A classic example of the style. Proof that you don't need massive amounts of hops to make an interesting and satisfying pale ale.
