Had it on tap,
very nice golden/yellow clear pour with a nice thick 2" whte head.
Nice aroma with shuttle floral and spice notes.
Taste was smooth, with a mild sweet, and a little hit of sour flavor.
Just beginning my enjoyment of Belgian Tripels. The 8.5% ABV is very well hidden.
A very good beer

330ml bottle, another squat, bulbous Vogon-esque affair, with an imperious, old-world appearing label. Works for me.
This beer pours a very hazy, medium golden straw hue, with prominent dark, flaky swirling sediment, and two fingers of puffy, marshmallowy off-white head, which leaves some rocky bluffs of lace around the glass as it evenly, and smartly sinks away.
It smells of grainy, somewhat sweet pale malt, white grape juice popsicles, white pepper, a bit of sugary tropical fruit, tame, loitering yeast, a touch of thin vanilla, and soft, lulling alcohol. Quite enticing, even if I was still 10 years old. Which I'm not. Anyways, the taste is bready pale malt, of the Wonder variety, at least in terms of weight, some enhanced, concentrated white grape fruitiness, mild earthy yeast, a bit of candy sugar, ethereal earthy hops, and some well-masked warming alcohol.
The bubbles are present, but generally disposed to their support role, the body a barely medium weight, and mostly smooth, the lingering booze and yeast pips having their after the fact say. It finishes off-dry, bordering on sweet, with the fruity malt having little problem staving off those pesky yeast and warming effects.
A pleasant enough Tripel, with a fruitiness that maintains enough distractingly complex nuances to make me temporary forget the seething, less than integrated booze. Good for a cold night's respite, I suppose, so I'll remember that when that experience returns, as they've inexplicably disappeared, for the moment, and in the middle of January at that.

330ml bottle poured into tulip 29/11/12
A bright golden orange with lots of suspended particles and a few chunks of yeast being moved around by fast streams of bubbles, a large bone white head quickly falls to a fingers width and just sorta sets up camp, there's still foam at the bottom of the glass and several partial rings of lace are left behind
S sweet candied pineapple mix well with some yeast, spice and faint bubblegum and earthy notes, some vanilla and bread work well for it and just a slight hint of booze, not the most complex triple but I'm loving the smells coming out of my glass
T more fruity notes and lots of yeast and slightly more booze, not as strong as the nose but still solid
M quickly fluffs up after entry, slightly sweet and medium bodied, has a earthy fruity finish that lingers
O I could have another of these no issues, drinkable and well priced, I loved the nose and can't complain elsewhere
I didn't know what to expect from this random offering and I'm pretty happy after the fact. I can see myself buying this again and its yet another welcome addition to the shelves here in Alberta

Appearance - Pale yellow. Great head retention. A little cloudy and a little plain in color. Again, quite pale in appearance. Yeast sediment is quite chunky and floats around in the glass. Great lacing.
Smell - Lemon, citrus, bread (sourdough), toffee/ sugar notes with a Belgian IPA hop on the nose (pungent and dry). Almost reminds me of a Belgian Pale Ale or Saison on the nose more than a Tripel.
Taste - Tart yet sweet. A nice vanilla finish with cloves, banana/ banana leaves, coriander spice and a nice use of dry hops to help balance out the sugars. This Tripel has a slight medicinal aftertaste that reminds me of Vicks cough drops. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's there when you focus on it.
Mouthfeel - Nice, but a little thin. Buttery, velvety and a nice use of carbonation. This stimulates most areas of the mouth. Lingers for a while, which is nice.
Overall - Definitely a change as far as Tripels go. This does not seem to maintain some of the usual characteristics that most Tripels do. Quite enjoyable, and still complex. That being said, it is not amazing. Tasty and lighter-bodied. A good beer that strays from the typical Tripel. For fans of beer that pushes past normal recipes and stands out.

First had: on tap at Eulogy, Philly, PA
Hazy, golden-yellow pour into a chalice, puffy white head that retained fairly well and blanketed the glass with lacing. Sweet malts in the nose, spicy fruitcake, mild grassy funk. More of the same in the taste, a melding of sweet malts, clovey spice, musty grass, bready yeast, dried fruit. Medium body, soft carbonation, fairly well-hidden alcohol. Nice and drinkable overall.

On tap at Max's tonight.
The beer pours a solid gold color with very good head retention and considereble sticky lacing all around. The nose is attractive as well, though I wish there was a bit more to it. In any event, I get some light sour funk, honey, light clove and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this a very nice beer. The flavor profile replicates the nose, but there's just more of everything. The sour funk is much more prominent, but is marries well with the honey and clove I'm picking up in this beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with the beer delivering a long, funky, slightly bitter, finish. The beer has some modest sweetness, but the sour funk, light bitterness and light spice counter it very nicely. Alcohol is noticeable, but not at all obtrusive.
Very nice beer...

Poured from the large 750ml bottle into a tulip glass. High pitched pop off the cork when opening.
Big white rocking head on this with lots of retention out of the bottle, three fingers deep. Clump clumpy chunks of foaming lacing. Body color is an orb unfiltered glowing yellow with hints of orange. Great rising white thin bubbled carbonation coming up on the glass. Absolutley fantastic looking.
Nose is a very dry malt, almost saison brett character with a little bit of subdued pepper, and hop floral. Real neat smelling, but doesn't remind me of your typical tripel. It smells great though.
Lively carbonation and incredibly dry finish. Spritzy saison quality but with some huge mineral finishes. Borderline metallic tasting, tight gas with a light body. Malt chewyness and density is burried behind a crisp light effervescence. My tongue is practically stinging. Nice floral hop action all around too.
Overall it's a real neat beer, but maybe not what I look for in this style, but it's very impressive, I would have this again for sure, and what a looker!

Draft pour into a tulip for $5 during happy hour. Sampled 12/1/11.
A: One finger of a whispy white, medium retention, with a lasting film and collar. The body is yellowish-gold with nice clarity, muddled only by a light haze. A fair amount of slow moving bubbles can be seen on the inside of the glass. Light lacing.
S: Malt forward as it should be. Mostly grain with some light Belgian candi sugar subtlety. Various aromas including straw, must and damp earth. A small grassy hop presence is noticeable. Yeast contributes less to the nose than most tripels, which I appreciate a lot. Only lightly fruity with banana deep in the background.
T: Very similar to the nose. The overall taste begins sweet, then dries out midpalate, and returns briefly to sweet on the finish. The dryness in the middles makes this beer less tiresome than most tripels tend to be. ABV is nowhere to be found.
M: Very good. Full bodied with medium thick texture. The effervescence is lively and crispy at first but the bubbles quit a little early, leaving a slight cloying feeling on the very back end.
O: One of the better tripels I’ve had in recent memory. I’d order again but would probably have gone with something else if I was paying full price.
