Prost! is a great German pub with a great small bar feel. its one of my favorite German Bars in town. a great selection of True german beers and Bratwurst and Sausages. went here with a friend for a pint on a whim just driving by and really enjoyed ourselves. the service was excellent and my glass was never empty. next time i go back i want to try the Spaten on tap and the Franz.. will definately be going back here.. Prost! is German for Cheers. havent been here during soccer but i hear they get pretty crowded with the soccer games on the tvs inside and room to sit on the patio.

Prost! is a great place if you want a mini German experience. Prost has a really fun atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in Bavaria. Authentic German beer, authentic German food, even authentic glassware for your beer (Das Boot!). If you don't like German beer or food, then this is not the place for you. The interior is on the smaller side, but it has a really good sized back patio. In terms of German beers, they have a solid staple of regulars (Paulaner Oktoberfest, Spaten Optimator, Hoffbrau Helles Lager ..etc) and also a few rotators depending on the season. I watched the Bayern Munich-Chelsea Champions League Final from here, and had a great time. It can get really busy on the weekends during the summer, so if you don't like crowds, maybe not the place for you. Also, as you would expect, when it is busy, you must be patient with the service.

It took me years to finally try this place. From the outside it never looked like much to me. The inside tells a much different story.
I love this place. It feels very European inside and is a nice break from the routine. For me, it feels like leaving town and even the country with the vibe and beer on tap.
Excellent German beer is always on tap with seasonals rotating occasionally like an oktoberfest or summer bier. The coolest part of the experience is that the glassware is perfect for each brew. It feels like you're at the respective brewery trying the beer. They also have boots for the lower abv brews if you want to booze hard.
The staff are generally alright but not overwhelming friendly. Good enough I suppose but the place is usually so insanely busy when I go on the weekends. That being said, it's hard to judge anyone's performance when the place is packed shoulder to shoulder. You're sort of working to get beer and food out as fast as possible at that point.
I had some sort of charcuterie plate the last time I was in. It was excellent. Totally hit the spot and was delicious.
I have great times here every time I go. You really need to go with friends. The more the better. It's typically packed but that's part of the fun.
The patio is cool in summer months as well. I should also mention that the reason it gets so crowded on the weekends is because it's fairly small. I think there are 7 tables as mentioned in other reviews and probably 15 seats at the bar inside of the restaurant so it gets crowded with little effort.

Simply an awesome German beer lodge inspired location. This is the place to go in Portland for your German beer fix. They have an extensive selection of German beer on tap and in bottle and rotate taps regularly. They pour into proper glassware as well.
This is the place to go for watching the Timbers lose... I mean battle hard against their opponent. (j/k I love watching the timbers!). They have a great deck that opens onto a whole host of food carts (though you can't leave their patio with your beer!). I haven't tried their food (not sure if they have any) since I am vegetarian and German food is NEVER veg friendly.
But I highly recommend this place for good beer, good vibe, and good people!

Both times I have been to Prost!, Portland's all German beer bar in hipsterville, there's been some weird element to the experience. On the first trip the bartender seemed kind of pissed when I was asking him for recommendations and refused to give me a taste of one of the beers an then changed his mind. The selection is pretty solid for just stocking German stuff but felt a tad limited. The second time I was in there the place was filled with jock soccer-player types that were guzzling a boot and singing the whole time. If I was part of their gang it would've been rad but grew tiresome over and hour. Prices are decent.

Stopped by on Sunday with my wife and two young daughters. This was our first visit. We first checked out the adjacent Mississippi Marketplace food cart area. About 8 foodcarts or so with a nice, covered sitting area. A nice mix of pizza, sushi, desert, etc. Prost! has a deck that overlooks the market. Picnic tables are sturdy and the setting is quite nice overall.
I went inside Prost! and was greeted by a couple of pretty blond servers. All the staff we encountered was professional and excellent.
I asked if my children could sit inside and they said sure, but not at the bar. There were about 6 or 7 tables and a decent sized bar. Atmosphere was great. Hockey on the flat screen above the bar, lots of nice wood, pleasent colors, etc.
They had about a dozen beers on tap, mostly German (perhaps all German). A nice selection of Spaten and a few other brands (wheats, darks, Helles, lagers, pilsners, etc.). I had a mass of Spaten Lager which was light and good. Beer were offered in liter, half and .3 sizes. I paid 9.50 for my mass, all liters were about this price.
Food looked hearty, clientle was mixed young couples, older singles, and families.
A great addition to the Portland beer scene.

What a wonderful addition to the Portland beer scene! In a place that prides itself on IPAs and Pale Ales drops in a little piece of Bavaria. This place is authentic as it gets. The exterior and interior of the building are pure German - from the smallish tables to the back stools and side bar. Rare for Portland is that NO local micros are on tap - imported German beer ONLY! Within that, though, a huge range of styles from lagers, pilsners, bocks of all kinds, smoked beers and more. All served in their SPECIFIC glassware. The food is a bit pricey, but very good and the service is excellent and friendly. The seating can be a bit tight (but that is authentic as well folks!) and the food is very good (if a bit pricey). As close as you will get to a Bavarian bar without a plane ticket!
