On Tap at Taco Mac Virginia Highlands. 16 Ounce Pour.
(Appearance) Pours a light hazy mild gold. Little head with below average quality retention, leaves meager surface cover. Average carbonation. Average appearance. 3
(Smell) mild fruity tones and even milder hop character. Aromas of berry yogurt and cream are most peculiar, leading to a very sweet aroma. probably the most mild hop aroma of any IPA ive had in a while. 3.5
(Taste) sweet front gives to grassy hop flavor has medium presence with minor bitter finish. Fruit aromas dont pass through wellMild malt character balances the beer but doesn't add much beyond that. Mildly enjoyable but not super unique; if it was going for fruit tones or something more unusual, then it should have tried harder in that regard. Tastes like most other run-of-the-mill IPAs out there. 3
(Mouthfeel) mildly airy, somewhat flatter than I expected it to be, doesn't match the hop character well. Minor alcohol presence, slightly above mild body. Too slick to match the taste profile. 3
(Overall) Pretty bland experience from Jailhouse brewing. I expected a more exciting take on the flavor. In place of this I'd recommend the Mugshot IPA which has a better balance and composition. This one isn't a winner for me. 3

16 ounce pint - Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Light copper-hued body, nearly clear, and with a lasting, whitish head fed by some steady effervescent bubble streams.
Smell: Caramel-coated grains with foaming buttery scent of diacetyl, overshadowing the delicate hop notes of florals and lemon.
Taste: Pale malted barley, lightly grainy with a pole vaulting caramel sweetness. Then, a shock of butter diacetyl. Floral, citrusy hops, moderately bitter. Drying, buttered malt finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Some folks really, really hate diacetyl, but I can fight through it like a champ most times. Just pretend you're working a pint of butterbeer with your witch and wizard pals at The Three Broomsticks!
