Got this one from Grant a while back. Thanks! Poured into a tulip. This one pours a muddy brown with a slight reddish hue to it. Small cap of foam.
The aroma is pretty one dimmentional. Lots of dark fruit. Sweet plumbs and so on. The pallet reminds me of cardboard. A bit of maple and fruit in the background.
The body is medium with soft carbonation. Overall this one is okay. I don't think it taste very good but it's not a drainpour.

Poured into a tulip. The color is murky brown with a bit of amber hues. There is a nice off-white half inch head.
The aroma is very fruity with some apple and there's a touch of caramel.
The taste is really full of caramel sweet malt. There is a slightly fruity finish.
This is full bodied with surprisingly crisp carbonation. This is decent enough, doesn't stand out at all really though.

Thanks to Xcalibur077 for this one
Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a DFH shaped pint glass.
The beer pours a cloudy deep mahogany with about three fingers worth of dense off white head that recedes quickly leaving behind a thin cap and very little lacing.
The aroma is very sweet, almost candy like, comprised mostly of caramel and maple syrup. There are also brown sugar, toffee, slightly toasty, and mildly fruity notes as well.
The flavor mimics the nose fairly closely. A big malty beer with lots of sweet caramel, maple, brown sugar, and toasty malts. There is also just a slight alcohol burn that is only noticeable on the back end. Full bodied and moderately carbonated, with a slightly chewy mouthfeel.
Overall this is a very nice big malty beer. Good stuff…

A nice local collaboration between Jailhouse and O'Dempseys. Jailhouse has really been cranking out the bomber recently, and they are all solid enough as well. Nice to see. This one is a very sweet Wee Heavy, and even though it's 9%, you don't really taste the alcohol at all. Looks fairly typical for the style, a nice burnished copper color, and in this case with a fairly slight head. Deeply malty with a candy overlay, the aroma reminds me a bit of those maple sugar candies, with a touch of woodsiness enveloped by intense sweetness, and perhaps the barest touch of spice. The taste is very sweet as well, but a firmer malt background develops on the palate, and a bit more of that spiciness as well, so it doesn't become cloying. To be a great beer, rather than a good one, I'd like to see something to balance the sweetness a bit more- spice, oak, tannins, hops, what have you. For me, the ne plus ultra of strong beers in this style are the beers from Traquair House, and this beer would do well to emulate that style a bit more. Still, a pleasant beer, and a nice collaboration.

Malty, slightly fruity aroma has subtle yeasty and brown sugar notes. It pours a slightly hazy mahogany with an average creamy pale tan head that leaves some good lacing. Pleasing flavor has malty, apple, pear and caramel notes plus just a hint of yeast. Lively, fizzy texture leaves a malt and caramel finish. Community Service? Sure!

Appearance: Pours a clear, deep amber-brown body with two fingers worth of lightly beige foam. Eventually thins to a smear of froth on the top.
Smell: Sweet-scented, smelling of, yes, a doughnut with maple icing. A little hint of fruitiness here, a quick zip of tea-like herbaceous there, but, for the most part, maple icing.
Taste: Condensed, caramelized sugars over a deep toasty maltiness given an extra small sampling of dark brown sugar and maple icing. Faintly nutty at times. Slight, temporary fruitiness hinting of berries and cherries. Scantly herbal hops, lightly bitter. Mainly just a pleasing malt bomb. Some spicy alcohol tones crop us as you near the still fairly sweet, smooth finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body with a respectful stickiness to the mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.
Overall: A pleasant wee-heavy, richly sweet and satisfying, with an alcohol content that is fairly well hidden that, after clearing the bomber, will help me sleep like a baby.
