Served this American Porter on tap, in a pint glass at the brewery. This porter poured motor oil black, produced a thick tan head, excellent head retention, and excellent lacing. The Aroma of this porter had a backbone of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and just a faint trace of Vanilla. The taste of this brew is medium in body, malt base with chocolate, and some vanilla flavor. Slightly sweet throughout, as i prefer Six Row's Strong Porter...this variation is not a bad session beer to try once. However I won't seek this one out in the future.

Cask serving at Green Lady, during the "South of 80" event.
Served in a narrow fluted tulip glass. Menu mentioned something about peanut butter and vanilla bean, not sure if this is a one off cask treatment, or suggestive tasting notes.

Black body with a soufflé cap of tan foam looking like a pillsbury biscuit. Copious lacing in the glass, great head retention.

Soft vanilla aroma, mild roast and mellow marshmallow notes.

Dry, not especially sweet, some light bitter chocolate and coffee roastiness, with plenty of roasted malt in the middle, lending to the heft of it. The vanilla seems to dominate, not picking up on much peanut butter really. Overall its very smooth and drinkable, i'd head back tomorrow and see if it's still on... edit: two days later and it is. Very smooth and marshmallowy. Light bodied but full of flavor.

best six row beer ive tasted. pours stout black with a modest off white head. smells is vanilla all the way, fresh vanilla bean, rather than extract, and not too sugary. backed up by roasted malts and a light chocolate hint. taste is identical to the nose, very vanilla dominated beer. i like it better than many other vanilla porters because it tastes like real vanilla. perhaps even a bit too much so, but this is a well made beer that i found to be very drinkable. nice mouthfeel, very smooth if a bit undercarbonated. real tasty stuff

Deep brown in color with a rocky creamy head that sticks to the rim all the way down. Aroma is of rich deep vanilla with sweet yeasty malts. Mouthfeel is light, silky and smooth. Drinks easy and light with a slight vanilla (almost like a light chocolate shake) on the finish. You could knock these back all night long (too bad the cask was finished in one hour!).

One of the best Porters I've tasted! Pours black, almost stout like. On the nose, a quick hit of vanilla, with some chocolate,a nd malt in the background. Mouthfeel is what you'd expect from a porter, not as "thick" as a stout, but still not light. Extremely easy to drink, and a great introduction to dark beers.

As I said one of my favorites.
