An amber ale that's both smooth and sturdy, with a wee bit of dark roasted malt and noble hops.

I tried the beer sampler at the brewery and this was my favorite. I ended up ordering a pint, and it was just as good. Good color, good taste, and smooth going down. Unfortunately I had to leave early, but I could have drank this one all night. Great beer.

Draft pint at the Val Vista location.
A - Mahogany brown with very still carbonation and very little lacing. Very appropriate for the style.
S - A little peaty, but mostly roasted malts and some dark sour fruit.
T - While it may be lacking a bit in characteristics that makes an ale a scottish ale, it does so in a way that makes it a more pleasant drinker for me. Subtly smoky, slightly sweet with a nice bready malt base. Even a little sweet tobacco flavor, like when I used to chew Red Man...
M - Theres a farly high ABV hidden here, stays fresh and wet on the palate and through the finish.
O - A nice blend in a style that is not my favorite. Pleasantly surprised.

Nice dark amber color with an off white head that covers surface but does not lace. Not a big smell, but some sweetness. Nice complex mix of malt and hops. Subtle sweetness, not too carbinated, even some hints of dark fruit. Very easy to drink and is one of the better Scotish Ambers I have had. Very exceptional beer

App - brown, clear, small head.
Aroma - caramel and malt, slight fruitiness. No hops. Good for style.
Flavor - sweet, caramel and malt. Light bitterness keeps it from being too sweet. A touch of roast also adds interest.
Mouthfeel - medium body, tingly carbonation, smooth with just a hint of astringency. Slightly warming.
Overall - a nice example of the Scotch ale style. not huge, just good. I had the sampler, but I'd come back for a pint of this.

"I'm going to call you Scooter. Short for Scooter Pie. I hate Scooter Pie!" - the janitor, Scrubs.
The ale formerly known as Scottie, Scooter is a Scottish-style amber poured from the tap into a standard pint glass.
A: nicely clear crimson-amber with absolutely zero head; just a light tan ring thin as a thread of cotton. I appreciate that they gave me a full pint, but I could use just a bit of bubbles. 3
S: peanuts, toasty bread, sweet cherries,, prunes. Very sweet aroma, for the style.
T: bready, with lots of crackers, figs, grapes and port wine before a sweet finish. Taken altogether, it a flavor not unlike fig newtons.
M: prickly medium-high carbonation amidst a smooth medium-light body.
D: Scooter is a sweet, smooth brew that's a bit too drinkable given its relatively high ABV. Might be my favorite from Sleepy Dog.

Experienced at the brewpub on-tap. A boring ale, though with some redeeming features. Light reddish colour with some creamy had. A tad sour, even a tad smoke, Not too drinkable. I do not know where this one was going, but I am sure it will get tweaked.
