Trader Joe's is more of a grocery store, but it has a good beer selection. If you've never been and you're a foodie - it's worth a try.
Atmosphere: Like that of a small grocery store. Well-lit diagonal aisles from the main entrance. Always a pretty crowded place with free food samples in the back and on some nights, beer and wine tasting closer to the checkout registers.
Quality: I've always felt the food quality is good at this store, but you can tell it is a batch process type of store with it's "Trader Joe's" line of products. Sometimes the batches are amazingly good, and other times they are a bit off. When it comes to beer though, double-check the dates before you buy. Very often the beer moves fast so it never sits too long, but sometimes things get lost.
Service: The staff at Trader Joe's are some of the friendliest people I've ever met and they'll go out of their way to help you find something.
Selection: Good selection of beer here. Obviously they carry many of the Trader Joe's unique stuff (TJ brand, Black Toad, Mission St., etc.) but they carry US craft as well (Dogfish head, Sierra Nevada, Anchor) and now I've seen Ohio craft showing up as well (Great Lakes, Christopher Moerlein). Reasonable selection of imports as well (Bitburger, Paulaner, Unibroue, a few others). Seasonals and year-round types of beers are here as well.
Food: Regardless of my comment about the batch-quality issues that I encounter from time to time here, hand's down the food at this store is amazingly good. If you're a foodie - you'll be in heaven here. And if you're not, this place may convince you to become one or maybe you'll get hooked on some of the foods here.
Value: Very reasonable prices on everything, and some things are really damn cheap given the quality. But since this is an emphasis on beer with BA - the pricing reflects the beer prices, not everything in store.
