A buddy left one of those multiple pack Kirkland cases in my fridge. Free beer I'm not complaining.
Look is copperish but nothing else very dull for a lager.
Smell is faint malt a bit of sweet
Taste very little anything has a fart like quality on the taste and smell.
Mouthfeel is not great either not easy drinking but not good enough to savor
Even the drinkability is bad, had high hopes for a contract brew but this did not come through.

2nd time trying to review this beer, all of Chrome crashed a few minutes ago.
Pours an amber color with a 3/4" off white almost beige head, but retention is lacking. Pretty color though. I think I was expecting more of a standard lager yellow, not oktoberfest amber. Aroma was like caramel flavored cardboard. Yeast didn't do anything smell wise. So far we're 2/2 with being surprised category wise on this one. Who knows what it will taste like I was thinking.
Taste followed that oktoberfest kind of impression. Still kept the caramel cardboard vibe, but had this artificial sweetener thing like they added a pack of splenda in each 6 pack. Still relatively smooth. They didn't go for any kind of hopping here. I mean, I dunno, these are like .75 each at Costco. And they taste like that, similar to the other 3 beers in their variety pack.
I dunno, if other people's taxes are used to feed you and your kids, this might be up your alley, but if you are self sufficient, you can prolly afford something better.

Kirkland German Style, in the east coast Costcos, from Matts. This beer is darker in color than almost any regular german lager available these days. This is the loser among the four different bottled beers in the mixed case. Matts makes some attractive beers, but this isn't one of them. What german style were they aiming for? It tastes like an American lager that was augmented with a small amount of amber malt.
