Went there for the first time today after reading some of the BA members reviews. All I can say is....WOW! What a great store. From the outside it looks like your average beverage store, but when you walk inside, you know you are in for a treat. The store was so clean and tidy, the lady running the store was very sweet and friendly, and the selection was marvelous. Like the other people have said, they have a HUGE selection of craft beer by the bottle WITHOUT ANY MARK-UP IN PRICE. Truthfully, this is the only store I've come across that does this. It's a great way to keep beer fans like myself coming back again and again. I stocked up on about eight different Christmas Ales for Christmas gifts for my brother-in-law, as well as some brews for myself. I can't stress how nice the lady running the store was. She even gave me a free La Fin Du Monde tulip glass just as a token of her appreciation for me checking the store out. So nice. I will be back again and again. Definitely my favorite beer shop in the Cleveland area!

This place was recommended by a couple of friends with good taste in beer and man were they onto something. While finding decent beer in NE Ohio is not hard to do, nowhere else has the focus on singles that Save-on does. Amazingly, there is no mark-up on singles. They simply take the price of a six pack (or four) and divide by the number of bottles.
The owners are friendly and helpful and keep a tidy store with a nice layout and no dust. I stock up every couple weeks and there is always new beers to find.
Just some of the breweries available: Troegs, Founders, New Holland, Great Lakes, Thirsty Dog, Bell's, Lakefront, New Holland, Breckenridge, Hoppin' Frog. There is also a great foreign selection of Belgians etc.
This is, in my opinion, the very best Beverage store Northeast Ohio has to offer and I'd stack it up against any single bottle store in the USA. Be sure to get the address right as it is easy to miss. Look for the plazza with the Dunkin' Donuts!

Visited on a recent business trip. Very close to a place I visit for work at least 5 or 6 times a year. Convenient to get to off of Route 2 going eaat from Cleveland.
Very small store, but packed with some very nice brews. Picked up 14 bottles of beer for about $60, not bad. Prices are very reasonable.
Good selection of Avery, Troegs, Weyerbacher, New Holland, 21st Amendment, and Otter Creek. Plus some good imports, but nothing too far from the mainstream, although there was a Gose beer.
Not sure how the service worked out for others, I didn't have a need for anything special or have any questions. Stock looked like it got a decent rotation. I'll definitely make it back next time I'm in the area for work.

I am very fortunate to live just a few blocks down Mentor Ave from such a wonderful establishment. The store occupies a former 7 Eleven turned Mentor Beverage store-front. The exterior of the store is pretty flat, with some large, generic poster-board advertisements and only a single neon cigarette advertisement. I guess what I'm trying to say is I never would have thought to scope this place for its craft-beer potential, and had i not frequented it as Mentor Beverage, I never would have found my way in there.
Walking in through the door feels like entering a different establishment entirely. You will be immediately greeted by one of the three family owners/employees as you enter the freshly carpeted, well kept store. Wally is, I believe, the primary owner and was the first person I met at the store. Noticing that i seemed impressed by the selection, he asked if I had been in the store before. I told him it was my first time and he immediately popped up from behind the counter and showed my friend and I what his place had to offer. I told him I was looking for a good stout or porter on that evening and he immediately showed me to Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout, which remains one of my favorites to date. As of recent Wally has not been around much as he also runs a drive-thru store in Eastlake, but his sister Sammy is pretty knowledgeable as well, and just as friendly.
The first column of shelving holds three rows of the stores room-temp beer selection. The first three shelve sides are all American followed by Belgian and English brews on the next three. All beers are available in singles with zero markup from the 4 or 6-pack pricing. The next column to the right of the entrance holds the store's wine selection. Couldn't tell you what's in there, but it looks pretty decent. Lining the walls of the store is a giant L-shape cooler that holds singles of just about every craft and import in the store. Adjacent to the cooler is a large cigar humidor that spans the length of the store.
Save-on is always my first stop when I return home from school on breaks, and the owners definitely know that. Extremely personable people and will occasionally throw breaks or gifts to loyal customers. This is a first-rate establishment that is certainly worth a stop for anyone in the greater cleveland area. I think I'll be heading there right now...

A hole in the wall location, you will miss it if you dont do your research as to where it is. You would never tell what wonders are inside from the exterior.
A huge and amazing selection of all things craft brewed. It appears all are available as singles and then in 4 or 6 packs as well. As mentioned in other reviews they had Bell's, Great Lakes, Founders, Left Hand, Breckinridge, New Holland, Alesmith, Southern Tier, Victory, some Clipper City, and the list just goes on and on. large selection of Germans and Belgians too. Just incredible all around and I am glad I stopped on a whim after checking out the reviews.
Owner was very helpful and knowledgable. Said he cant believe many of his BUD and Busch Lite drinkers are now buying craft beers. Prices seemed reasonable-do not live in the area and many of these are unavailable to me locally so I am comparing prices that way.
The bottles were spotless and dust free, which for me is a pet peeve if they are dirty. Great presentation of merchandise.
Don't know quite what the rest of the Cleveland area has for beer stores but this one certainly rocks!

I missed the Brews & Blues Fest in Akron, so drove up here instead after reading the reviews on BA. Wow, was it worth the trip! For the same $30 I would have paid to visit the festival, I walked out with two mixed six-packs of craft beer PLUS a nice bottle of Riesling Spatlese as a gift for my dad.
I highly recommend chatting with the friendly owner. I picked out my first six-pack with some of my favorite wheats and stouts, then showed it to him and asked him to help me pick out another six of the same styles that he thought I would like. He was more than happy to walk me around the store and do that. Great selection and outstanding prices!

Found this gem of a beer store while visiting my brother-in-law who lives in Mentor. Very unassuming facade, but once you're inside it's all beer. Great all-around selection. Since I live in Europe I was more interested in the domestic craft beer, but checked out the imports and was very impressed. Probably the best part about this place is the fact that they sell singles that are not overpriced like most places. Most beers are under $2.00. The selection was incredible. Lots of west coast stuff to include Rogue, Stone, Bear Republic and Alesmith. Other mentionables included Founders, Bells, Southern Tier, Brooklyn and Avery. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly and fairly knowledgeable. She turned me on to some Founders Devils Dancer that she didn't have displayed. Had planned on visiting some other beer stores in the Cleveland area but there was no need after stopping here. Great store!

This is definitely a diamond in the rough. From the outside it appears to be your average convenient store, NOPE. This place focuses clearly on craft beer and imports. There are always new beers coming in and the selection is outstanding. The best part is you can grab a single of any beer they sell. There are aisles loaded w/ singles and 6 packs. They have a decent bomber selection and very nice Belgian collection. This place is pretty big and is stocked. This is pretty much my go to place if I want to stock up. If ever in the Mentor area, this is a MUST! I try to make an appearance at least once a week.
The owner is also very nice and knowledgable.

Stopped by on my way to Cleveland after reading about this place on BA.
A very impressive selection of craft beer, including a good variety from Founders, Bells, Hoppin' Frog, Great Divide, Breckenridge, Flying Dog, Thirsty Dog, New Holland, Avery, Troegs, etc. Also a good selection of Belgian beer.
Another plus was the very large selection of make your own six pack beers. Almost every beer that they had was available in single bottles.
My only complaint was that some beers were ONLY available as singles (with onlt 2 or 3 on the shelf) and I would have liked to buy a 6 packs (Founders Porter, GD Yeti, Bells Double Cream Stout, etc.).
I also managed to find one bomber of Alesmith speedway Stout, which was a welcome find!
Service was very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely go back here...

This place is incredible. Everything is available in singles, and not at inflated prices like many other places. The selection is great in all categories. And the beers I've purchased were always fresh.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. And there is almost never a line to pay.
This is a beer store with wine unlike the wine store with beer down the road.
The only downside to the place is the location. It is a busy corner, and nearly impossible to turn left into or out of. But a couple of u-turns fixes that.
