Wow, I'm very glad I checked out the reviews on this place. I am driving through Ohio and always like to get some beer I cant get at home when I am on the road. Turned out this was a mile from my hotel so I had to check it out. I drove by it the first time, and was definitely doubtful when I saw the outside. Once I got inside though, I knew my wallet would be much lighter when I left. Incredible selection, great customer service. Easily one of the best beer shops I have ever had the pleasure of shopping in. Always nice to get some white rajah and head hunter when you live in Missouri!

Don't let the outside fool ya, because I can't say enough good things about this place and remember what your mom always said, "It's whats on the inside that counts"! Great customer service, great variety and very reasonable. The only complaint is that it's not closer to me. Thankfully got friends that live 10 minutes away so when we visit them, the boys head out to Save-on. Can't wait for our next visit to Mentor.

This was a trip a year in the making. I found out about this store a year ago and finally took the hour long drive to check it out.
The gentleman working the counter was super nice. He suggested some good beers that I had tried already so I stuck to making 6pks of random stuff I never see around me. A lot of single 12oz and a good amount in the coolers as well.
The man working even helped me out selling me a single Great Lakes Blackout Stout saying he would take the other three home since they were just offering six packs.
Nothing too crazy in terms of rares but the selection is unmatched and I would have maybe half the choices if you went to the surrounding beer stores closer to me.
Worth the trip and was a blast to hang out in the store for a while.
Picked up an Avery Czar 2012 and some Jubilation Ale for the cellar!

Stopped in here with a friend after reading the reviews on here to buy some single bottles to sample. Can't believe this is in my backyard and didn't know it was here. Staff was as friendly as one could hope for in any establishment. Selection was great with a nice mix of cold singles in the cooler as well as warm bottles on the shelves. Mostly domestic brewers with a good selection of imports. We will be back many times over to buy beers. Single bottles prices were best I have seen in any store that sells them.

Might be the best beer store I've ever been to. I'm not sure if the dude and woman working the counter own the place or just work there the only time I've been there, but they were seriously awesome. Helped me spend more money than I really wanted to spend, but I don't care. I would love to sit back and drink half of his stock with the guy. The girl was relatively hot too :p
Anyway, atmosphere is great because of the two aforementioned people. The quality is damn good. Service is superb, as stated previously as well. Selection is amazing. The only gripe is that I wish they had Three Floyds in stock. Outside of that, nothing to complain about.

This joint is just great. first, the woman who usually works there is extremely friendly and she helped me out no problem when I went there my first time. she also lets me know when a good beer is about to come in or if the store has any specials.
Second, the beer selection is second to none IMO. this place prides itself on a very wide selection from national brews from across the US. also has an extensive selection of foreign imports and even has a section dedicated to brews from our own State and local brews.
the mix your own sixpack is a godsend for people who just want to try an assload of different beers such as myself.
DO NOT LET THE OUTER APPEARANCE FOOL YOU! it does look like a reprehensible building (it used to be a 7-Eleven),but inside is homely and inviting. do yourself a favor and come to this place if your in the neighborhood.
Oh yea, they have domestics too

I'm not sure how long after Sammi and her mom started running this store that I found it, but it was a great surprise. This corner used to be a 7 Eleven and then a dumpy cheap beer store. I stopped in for doughnuts next door and I noticed some quality beer through the window. What a nice surprise it was to find a huge selection of singles.
It's been about a year, year and a half since then, and this is the closest real beer store to my house (but there are others near by too). Within 1 to 5 miles there are probably 10! But Sammi is great and her mom is sweet. They always wear a big smile and keep the selection first rate. They will make an effort and obtain special orders fo you.
Highly recommended.

When I pulled up to it, my first impression was 'What a dump'. But upon entering you soon realize that you can't judge a book by its cover. The place is all focused around Good Beer, Some Liquor and Smokes. The atmosphere is decent, not a total beer snobs haven, but okay. The quality of beers are decent, they get some heavy hitters on their shelves but lacks in any rarities or extreme rarities. The service is average, there were two people working who knew what they kinda had but couldn't really help you. The quality of their selection is decent, they draw a lot of brewers from Ohio and surrounding states but that's about it. I think the locals scored this place so high because they havent seen better but this place is the 4th best beer retailer I've been inside the past 7 days. (Beers of the World, Rochester NY...Half Time in Poughkepsie NY...Premier Gourmet, Kenmore NY)
To quote Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds...Its good, here why.

I love to stop into this place when I want to try a new beer and don't want to buy a 6 pack. Each single bottle is a reasonable price, and is not marked up at all. The entire back wall are coolers where you might find a jem or two hidding. The owner is very nice and always says hello and leaves me alone. They have a very well stocked selection and you can even grab a nice cigar too. Stop in if you ever see it [it is next to a Dunkin' Donuts and would really just drive by it if you were not looking for it.]

I don't have much else to add beyond what has already been said, but had to add a review to also say how phenomenal this store is. I now readily drive 1/2 hour to go here and probably make 90% of my beer purchases here. I have only begun to work my way through their vast inventory. On my most recent purchase, I got a nice selection of Arcadia, Avery, BrewDog, Brooklyn, Clipper City, Founders, Ithaca, Lagunitas, Lakefront, Left Hand, Tallgrass, and Victory, and I only made it through about two shelves before I reached my limit. Got 2.5 cases, almost entirely singles (as has been said before, at exactly 1/6 the price of a 6-pack) for ~$55. They have a nice selection of bombers, Belgians, and imports although their primary focus is domestic. All singles are both on the shelf and in the cooler. They also have a small but decent wine selection and quite a few cigars. The employees are very friendly, quick to offer help but don't get in your way at all. Fabulous store.
