Comes out of the tap a pretty clear amber with a respectable fine-bubbled pale golden head. Aroma is hoppy and resiny, typical for an IPA but still appealing. Flavor, fortunately, is better - decidedly hoppy, slightly bitter, with an evergreen undertone and a hint of sour citrus. Lively texture leaves a nice hoppy fizz. As far as IPAs go, not too shabby.

Had on-tap at their Blake St. Brewpub in Denver.

Poured a nice copper color with a bit of haze. Considerable head from an aggressive pour, but it mostly dissipated. Left a good amount of lacing. Aroma was of citrusy and earthy hops as well as some sweet malts. Smells well-balanced. Taste is bitter from the hops, but not overly so. The malts balance it out a bit. I really enjoyed the complexity of the hops...I got multiple notes from them (piney, citrusy, earthy...good stuff).

Light to medium-bodied with good carbonation. Overall a good brew that while not overly complex, is well-balanced and drinkable. I would have this again. Recommended.

From 07/22/11 notes. Had on tap at Stoney's in DC. Poured into a pint glass.

a - Pours a somewhat clear orange amber color with one inch of white head and light carbonation evident.

s - Smells of bready malts, citrus hops, and caramel malts.

t - Tastes of caramel malts, bready malts, fruity malts, light citrus. Some moderate bitterness in the taste.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation.

o - Overall a decent beer, but not a ton of hops. Malts dominate this one. Would give it another shot.

bit of a chill haze to the dark amber-body. capped by a small white head that held for a while with decent lacing.

Sweet maltiness in the nose gives hints of caramel-flavored candy and honey. can taste the blend of hops (pine, grass, light citrus)... but honestly, a bit imbalanced towards the sweet side for an IPA.

Malts bring a taste of caramel, grains & honey. slight hint of hoppy tastes of pine, grass, grapefruit, and tangerine. again, light bitterness for an IPA and the finish is very dry with the malts more evident than hops.

Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is just the slightest bit sticky.

to me, this seemed a little more subtle like an APA rather than IPA. the hops were lacking and the malts dominated a bit. I had this pint with fish & chips in a pub. perhaps I will revisit without food to see if the profile changes any.

Bright medium amber color with light head and little lacing left on the glass.

Slight citrus in the nose backed with sweet malts. The flavor is a bit subdued for an American IPA and slightly sour. Good medium body.

Served before my meal, I was thinking I would not finish it. However, the burger and barbeque sauce that I ate as I drank the rest seemed to balance and enhance some of the flavors and made for not a bad lunch.

On tap at Max's today.

The beer pours a light copper amber color with pretty good head retention and lacing. Don't get a whole lot on the nose, but what I get is pretty attractive. It consists of some light orange citrus and a hint of pine. Mouthfeel replicates the nose pretty closely in this fairly light, dry and light weight IPA. Mouthfeel is light, with a fairly dry and bitter finish. Drinkabiity is pretty good I guess. You can tell the abv. is fairly low, and the beer isn't completely devoid of flavor. That being said, this has to be one of the more "mehhh" IPA's I've had in some time. Really not very impressive.

First had: on tap at Monk's, Philly, PA

A: Amber color, white head, some lacing.

S: Fairly roasty, with an implied hop bite.

T: Pretty decent balance of hops and malts; not too bitter for an IPA.

M: Light-medium body, not too harsh, average carbonation.

D: Easily drinkable, but nothing too special

On tap at Melt Bar & Grilled in Cleveland Heights. Poured into a stemless wine glass or tumbler.

A - The beer is light amber in color with a medium sized white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Looks highly carbonated and refreshing.

S - Smells very citrusy, hoppy and sharp. Maybe a bit of caramel on the end of the nose. Hops definitely are number one on this IPA.

T - Hops hops and more hops. Lots of orange and lemon as well. Sweetness comes through at the end. Suprisingly smooth.

M - Mouthfeel is very light and carbonated. Makes the sweetness and smoothness work even better.

D - Drinkability is pretty good. Lots of hops and good sweetness and a smooth overall drink make this pretty good. I'd have it again but wouldn't run out right away to grab a six pack.

Pours a clean orange-ish/ yellow color with an off white head. In the aroma, pine hops, sweet malt, and a small citrus note. In the taste, pine hops and a big dry maltiness. A hop bite and medium to big bodied mouthfeel, with a dry pine hop aftertaste. Quite malty but nice none the less.

A pint served at the Breckenridge Brewery in Breckenridge, CO. Amber in color and slightly hazy. Nice dense head with good retention. Muted citrus aroma with a hint of caramel. Taste is along the same lines. Some pine in the front, followed by a thinish middle and bitter back end. Mouthfeel is a bit light for the style.

This Beer is lives up to what Breckenridge was going, a session IPA. It starts with a slight bitterness ending with a smooth hops that isn't over the top in your face. The hops are defiantly not over whelming but very nice to make this the perfect session IPA.

Appearance: light amber in color with a 2" head that lasts a long time.

Smell: some caramel, soft fruit sweetness, and a hint of bitterness rise from the glass.

Taste: bready malt profile here. Caramel, ripe dark fruit sweetness, and a moderate bitterness makes up a mellow flavored IPA that definitely leans more towards and English style.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp to start, less crisp at the finish. Aftertaste is short.

Drinkability: this is an easy drinking IPA that makes it a sessionable beer.

A - Poured a clear orange color with golden highlights. It had a small head of off-white foam that left thin rings of lace.

S - Tons of citrus hits you in the nose. It had a light caramel maltiness.

T - This is a nice well-balance IPA. It is citrusy and floral with just enough sweet caramel malt. Not overly bitter it drinks pretty easily.

M - It was crisp and sharp. A light to medium bodied IPA.

D- This was pretty good. I'm glad I found it on tap while in Colorado.

bought a whole keg of this without even trying it, and its pretty good, definitely worth the money and the gamble. has a nice color to it, a light copper color with a nice white head, it really is a good looking beer. smell is good, but for an IPA i think its sort of mild, not a kick in the face hop aroma like alot of IPA's, not to say its bad but maybe thats just what i come to expect? taste is a classic IPA, reminds me more of an English IPA, a bit more reserved and standard, not a punch in the face hop flavor, but some nice malt flavors compliment the hops, its a bit of a nice change from the strong IPAs which are so popular. i like this beer quite a lot.

Surprisingly undistinguished. Pours clear copper with modest head with scattered lacing. Aroma is tight, pinched and laced with banana. Flavor is overripe, heavy banana ester with floral hops in the back. Caramel malt, very slight bitterness. Mouthfeel is weak, bitterness is late to the party.

A: On tap, in a pint glass. Had an orange color and a cloudy texture. There was a good half inch of long-lasting, foamy head and some very good lacing.

S: A sharp aroma hops, pine and citrus.

T: Had a bitter taste of floral hops, pine, citrus, and a resiny quality. Not quite as flavorful as Breckenridge's 471 IPA, but still decent.

M: A highly carbonated beer with a dry finish. Light- to medium-bodied.

D: A solid, drinkable IPA.

Served in a standard shaker glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.

Appearance: The beer as served is a nice reddish/orangish color that is lightly hazed and has a 1/8" white head that quickly recedes to a ring and a patch of foam. While some lacing clings to the sides of the glass, generally there is very little lacing left by sipping.

Smell: The aroma is not particularly strong, but what there is of it is predominantly sweet caramel malt and honey with some grassy citrus character. The citrus is predominantly sweet grapefruit.

Taste: The flavor is dominated by a rich caramel malt backbone tinged with some citric hop flavors but not a lot of bitterness. The citrus is mostly like sweetened grapefruit. There is also a degree of floral, grassy, earthy character to the gentle hop bitterness. None of the flavors truely dominate and all contribute to the overall impression of a tasty beer.

Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is medium bodied with adequate carbonation. The finish is medium long, dry and lightly bittered from the hops.

Drinkability: I enjoyed this beer and would be happy to have it again sometime. It has rich and pleasant flavors that blend together nicely. While it doesn't make my top 5-10 IPAs list it is well made and I could have another. That being said it struck me as being much more like an English style IPA than like an American Style IPA, so that whether or not I'll have this again depends to a certain extent on whether I'm in the mood for an English style IPA.

On-tap at Taco Mac Metropolis in Atlanta.

Pours a clear light copper color with a one-finger white head. The head dissipates into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.

Smells of pale malts and citrus hops without much else. As it warms the pale malt aromas intensify.

Tastes similar to how it smells, however the flavors are a bit more layered. Pale malt flavors kick things off and have a good amount of graininess to them - almost like some toasted malts were used. Hop flavors join in midway through the sip and are largely citrus-oriented however hints of pine lurk in the background. The ending is solidly bitter.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a solid thickness with moderate carbonation.

Drinkability is alright. I finished my glass however I'm not sure about another.

Overall this tasted like a maltier version of the 471 Small Batch - maybe an APA to the SB's IPA. Not amazing but worth a shot.

A - Poured an amber color with an off white head that leaves lacing behind

S - Is of citrus hops not as strong as I expected them to be

T - Citrus hops upfront then the malt tries to balance it out but creates a weird combination

M - This beer has a medium body with medium carbonation to it

D - Overall its just an average beer thats pretty weak for an IPA theres better IPAs out there to drink over this one

Appearance: There's a slight haze to the dark amber-hued body capped smallish, white head kept from quickly fading by continuous steady streams of bubbles.

Smell: Sweet-scented maltiness in the nose gives hints of caramel-flavored candy and honey served atop toast. The rich blend of hops throw off notes of citrus, pine resin, and grass. The Amarillo is certainly imparting a clear-cut scent citrus note akin to take a whiff of triple sec.

Taste: Malts bring about a taste of candy caramel with lesser degrees of toasted and honey-dipped grains. Moderate resin quality transfers to hoppy tastes of white pine, dried grasses, pressed flowers, grapefruit pith, and a few big ole drops of tangerine oil. Medium-high bitterness. While rebounding hints of caramel and honey try inject, it remains a bitter brew. The finish is very dry and with a bitterness that confidently strolls out into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is just the slightest bit sticky.

Drinkability: It's plenty bitter, but still amply malty and with no more alcohol than is needed. For me, it was reminiscent of their Small Batch 471 IPA, except with a brighter hop character and less alcohol, though, I must admit, it's been a coon's age since I last had the SB471IPA, so maybe this calls for a side-by-side comparison.

Typical IPA appearance, a clear copper color with an off white thin head.

The likely aromas of slight pine hops and some citrus. The taste starts imediately with pine and then a finish of citrus lemon.

A very light mouthfeel with good carbonation. This is good IPA in my opinion, very smooth and not too hoppy, just right.

Lucky U IPA served on tap for free. Lucky me indeed.

Pours a hazed orange with a creamy foam and lace all the way down the glass.

Floral aroma of hop blossoms and some malt character lingers in.

Nicely balanced and not overly bitter. Light citrus and light pine, malt kicks in a bit of sweetness. Creamed corn also present with a slight vegetal twinge. Finishes with a lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel is creamy, smooth and full bodied.

This was a beer I didn't seek out, instead it found me. Not over the top with the hopping. I found this beer to be best cold and as it warmed some astringency came out. Still a decent IPA.

Pours a light brown with a nice tan head. Nose has fresh hops, citrus and bready malts. Sweet candy malts over power the fruity hops a bit in the flavor, but still a good beer. Light body just a tad thin. Decent IPA from Breckenridge, but the flavor just does not live up to the nose.
