Cloudy yellow, with fine fizzy white head. No visible lace here.

Malty, yeasty nose. Sweet rolls, honey.

Smooth taste, clean wheat character. The agave seems to give this one a clean, syrupy undertone. And although this may seem a bad thing, this beer is a pleasant, session drinker. There's not a lot of depth here, but not bad, by any means.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – Pours a super hazy orange amber color with a dense one finger white head. The head persists fantastically, fading very slowly over time to leave a great leave of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell - The aroma was wheaty and grainy with a rather strong showing of orange sweetness. Mixed with these aromas are some lighter notes of a grassy and a musty smell.

Taste – The taste begins with a wheaty base mixed with a bit of grainy flavors. As the taste advances citrus sweetness comes to the tongue growing stronger as the flavor advances. Along with the orange citrus flavors comes flavors of yeast and a little bit of spice. The orange gets quite strong at the end with a bit of honey flavor mixed within. In the end, some lighter grassy hop flavors join the taste, to leave a quite yeasty and smooth orange wheat flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The brew was actually rather creamy for only 4.2% abv with a carbonation level that was on the average side. The creaminess was rather nice of the wheat and yeasty flavors of the brew creating a nice chewy base for those two flavors. The medium carbonation furthermore keep it rather refreshing still and created a rather nice feel for the brew overall.

Overall – This was much tastier and thicker tasting then I would have originally expected for a brew of only 4.2 % abv. This makes for a nice sipping summer day brew while sitting outside and enjoying the sun.

Appearance- Pale orange beer under a millimeter of head that dissipates quickly.

Smell- Some citrus tones mostly. Virtually no aroma beyond the citrus. Maybe a hint of blandness if that makes sense.

Mouthfeel- Slight carbonation bite gives way quickly to a medium body liquid that stays fresh seemingly forever on the palet.

Taste- A few things going on here. Some citrus, mango, a hint of sour taste. The flavors seem afraid to come forward, then just as quickly disappear with little taste left on the palet.

Overall- Better than average, but not really worth a second one.

Breckenridge's Agave Wheat is brewed in the style of a Pale Wheat Ale with Agave nectar added, although it's listed here as an herbed/spiced ale, I'd argue that it isn't that far off from a pale wheat ale to count. No bottle date, purchased on discount at Smokerise Bottle Shoppe.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a pint glass. Served north of 55º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) Pours a white crispy head over a mildly hazy golden amber body with ample relaxed carbonation and below average retention. Lacing is not to be found. Looks aren't the prime winner in this beer, and I was frankly surprised by the poor head quality despite being a wheat-based beer. 2.5

(Smell) Smells very much like a pale wheat ale. There's a bit of bitter grassy notes and sourness in the aroma, with a musty wheat base. Smells a bit unclean and old. The body seems a bit shallow and potency is shallow as well. 2.75

(Taste) Flavor is a bit more focused than the aroma, with a moderate wheat malt base and a notable agave sweetness, not too overdone, either. A faded citrus note is a welcome perk in addition to the malty body, but a more dominant citrus hop base would be truly ideal to pair with the agave nectar. There's not a lot going on beyond the malt sweetness and wheat base, but for a simple beer, this one is drinkable and the sweetness doesn't go overboard. 3.5

(Mouthfeel) Mild chewy aroma with a very faint carbonation presence, a touch of sticky resin, and a slightly moist finish. Body is medium/high for the style, and medium overall. Alcohol presence is well concealed. It could have balanced out better with a little spritz in the carbonation. 3.25

(Overall) Despite some initial suspicions that this wouldn't go too well. I'm still contempt with labeling this a pale wheat ale, but it's a bit heavier bodied as a result of the Agave sweetness, yet remains simple and drinkable without being too heavy a drinker. 3
