My pour into a pint glass yielded about a half finger of fine, white head. Very little retention, leaving just a dusting on the surface, and not terribly much lacing. The body is a nice copper color.

The smell is very sweet, sappy pine, malt backbone. Very enticing, but not terribly unique. Nice balance.

The taste is what really wows me about this beer. It's nice and complex. Pleasingly sweet and piney/resiny on the front, while the finish is slowly drying, with an ever evolving hop character. The beer has a nice foundation of bready malts. The mouthfeel matches the taste perfectly too. Seriously. It's just thick enough, and with an awesome balance of carbonation frothing up onto your taste buds. A real treat.

I will have to get ahold of some more of this one. And soon.

Poured into snifter; cloudy dark orange/amber with a thin filmy head that fades into nothing but a rim. Smell is big juicy citrus fruits, I'm getting grapefruit and mandarin oranges. There is also some alcohol in the nose. Taste is just like the smell, but in reverse order; alcohol bathes the tongue in heat before thick, sweet malt takes over followed by the sweet fruit. Finish is very bitter hops destroying everything until just a lingering bitterness and malt stickiness remain.
