I've been looking for a place to buy beer in Metroplex where the staff knows as much about what they are selling as I do and are willing to help procure hard to find brews. This is definitely the place. I went in today and was immediately drawn to DFH Squall which I've been trying to get locally for months. Once the owner noticed what I had chosen, he immediately came over and pointed out other hard to find beers. He even offered to try to special order anything I'm looking for. When I told him I'd love to special order a bottle of 2011 Utopias, he called his distributor while I was standing there. Unfortunately, it turns out that he's not allowed to sell beer that strong.
Great service AND great selection less than 5 minutes from my office?? AWESOME!! My prayers have been answered.
I rated the atmosphere a 4 since this place is a bit small, but he really packs the good stuff in wall to wall at this place. I gave the selection a 4.5 instead of a 5 because he is only allowed to sell beer and wine that is 17% or less ABV. This covers about 98% of what I'm looking for, but there is still those rare (Utopias) items that I would like to get there.
All in all, this place is highly recommended.

I went to Grapevine Beer & Wine for the first time today and I was impressed.
Quality: The store itself was fairly small and luckily I was the only other person in there, otherwise it would have been hard navigating around another person.
Service: The behind the counter was friendly and asked a couple times if I needed any help, but he wasn't very sociable. Good service, but I prefer other stores in the area where the owner will actually talk beer with you.
Selection: Great selection. Easily on par with the other major beer stores in the metroplex. I even found a couple things that I had not yet seen anywhere else.
Value: Everything was reasonably priced and there were a couple things on special that were pretty cheap.
Hall's used to be the best beer store in that part of the metroplex, but they are very overpriced. Grapevine Beer & Wine is a great alternative to Hall's.

Located in a strip center on Park Blvd. near highway 114, Grapevine Beer and Wine is a very good store that stocks the vast majority of quality craft beers that are available in Texas. Additionally, GV B&W seems to always have the latest seasonals and limited releases (i.e. Divine Reserve).
The store contains around 10 coolers devoted to craft beer in addition to carrying macros, wines, and other convenience store type items.
The owner of the store, Rick, is very friendly and helpful, and takes requests.
One of the best beer stores in North Texas.
