If you've never been to Eastport, it's hard to explain this quaint fishing village thats been suffering from economic depression for about 100 years, but is slowly clawing its way back as a tourist destination in the summer months as well as encouraging other businesses. We are very thankful to have the Pickled Herring in this area. It is even staying open some during the off season. It is a very fine dining experience with the best steak that I have had in a while, and an unusual menu of Pizza all done on their wood fired grill. But to top it off, they have a fantastic beer selection. This place had eight taps going last night (in the off season). One Shipyard, 2 Sebago's, a Spaten, Harpoon UFO, Allagash White, Geary's Porter, and a Guiness. Wow!! A true oasis in a beer desert. The bartender said they want to expand their taps next year. A wonderful place to eat and drink!! Good wine selection too.
