Ok- the two word review here. Over rated
Atmosphere is lousy and to loud and crowded, Kids are everywhere. On our visit there was some twenty somethings buzzed on a few beers talking extreamly loud and uncontrollably laughing at the dumbest things. Pot buzzed I guess?
Service is poor, Service at the bar is better, they try to please but its too crowded every seat at that time was filled -with at least 5 parties waiting at the door.
Food is good, tasty burgers and fries decent beers on tap, bartender compd us for slow service with a free beer! Prices are on the high end 2 people will spend $$$ 40.00 with no problem. Food selection is good from what I could see portion sizes are ok I didn't feel shorted on quantity. Beer prices are all to high in my book anything over 6 bucks for pint beer forget it.
After our meal we felt like we had to leave because of table rent.
Overall it's in the "you gotta be kidding" catagory on a friday night I won't even attempt it again.

i came. i saw. i stayed sober (unfortunatly)
first off this place is seriously hidden. you gotta be looking for it. its located in a nook inside of a big lots shopping center. came here around noonish and already was crowded.
was seated next to kitchen, lots of tvs nearby to keep your mind occupied. all the servers were very attractive girls. was driving so couldnt drink but the beer menu was impressive.
had a 50/50 burger medium rare. didnt disappoint. sides of fried macaroni and cheese bites along with the best damn fried pickles (buffalo wild wings and hooters fried pickles couldnt hold a match to these) came with some very addicting tapatio ranch.
overall highly recommendable. great food. great beer. have to come here for a monday night game

I really like this place. In a nutshell, great vibe, food, people and with a solid selection of craft beers.
Came here with the wife on our way to watch some Cal State Fullerton vs UCI baseball.
It was crowded when we walked in... it was Angel's opening day so the place was full. When we walk in a warm lively vibe greeted us. The restaurant area was straigh ahead with a small bar on the left. Then further on the left was another bar room, like a separae sports bar. HD TVs playing, a pool table in the back with many smaller tables for patrons to sit. Along with a bar down one side.
There was about 30 taps and 30+ bottles to select from. Mainly good craft beer. I had a union jack and racer 5 while my wife had the allagash wit then a rogue chocolate stout. there was some Bootleggers, Hangar 24 and I cant remember the other brews but it was a solid selection.
Food was delicious. We made our burgers, you can select various ingredients like ordering sushi from a paper checklist. You can also choose your paddy, lamb, beef, chicken, veg, etc. The other items looked good too. Overall the food is on the gastropub side. I need to come back to try out more of the menu.
It was crowded but our waitress stayed on top of things and we had very nice service. The gal did forget our fries but when we reminded her, she stopped what she was going and ran to go get them and we had them lickitty split.
this is a cool place to hang out and a place to bring friends and family. You can bring them to a cool place and still be able to drink some solid craft beer with some good food. I'll be back.

Checked this place out with my wife and kiddos and I have to say it was a very awesome time. If you want some great different burgers and some good beer this is the spot to come to. It has a sports bar atmosphere with a couple flatscreens and a nice lively crowd.
While I was there they had Union Jack, Racer 5, Ballast Point Yellowtail, Arrogant Bastard, A couple of German lagers, Goose Island Matilda, Chimay, just to name a few. On closer inspections of the used kegs upfront I spied a Bigfoot keg.
The service is good. Our waitress was happy to answer any questions we had about the food or beer. There was not a long wait time between when we ordered and when our items arrived.
The burgers are outstanding. The 50/50 patty is half ground beef, half ground bacon. There are way too many toppings to list on here, but they do have some pre-made burgers such as the peanut butter and jelly burger, and the the thanksgiving burger. Its a great place to check out if you are in that neck of the woods. Its a little off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip.

UPDATE 10/1/10: 36 taps are now pouring. Among them are Calico Amber, Yellowtail Pale, Brother Thelonious, La Chouffe, Ranger IPA, Hangar 24 Alt, Hofbrau Weiss, Steigl, and Chimay White. A place I already liked just got better.
UPDATE 4/24/10: The bottle prices have come down for most. The service was quicker the second time around, and the french fry/onion straw side combo is great, and it works wonders with the already awesome burgers. There is a little rotation in the tap selection, with Allagash White and Boont Amber Ale in the mix.
Slater's 50/50 is a bar and restaurant specializing in gourmet, custominzable burgers, and craft beer. The resturant part is filled with tables will little room to get aorund, the bar being spacious, and TV's all around the place.
8 on-tap, about 50 in the bottle. On draft; Coors Light, Guiness, Racer 5, Double Barrel Ale, Arrogant Bastard, Blue Moon, Great White, Fat Tire. In the bottle: Rodenbach Grand Gru, Speedway Stout, Stone IPA, Delirium Tremens, Allagash Curieux. I saw wine glasses being used for someone's lambic. Drafts are 16 ounces, 22 ounces, and pitchers.
Service is friendly and one of the guy's knows a few things about beer, but it is very slow. Sitting at the bar, it took some time just to place my drink order, and it took at least a half-hour to get my burger. Oh, and the burger is damn tasty. Fix it up any way you'd like.
The drafts and burgers aren't terribly expensive: the bottled beers are. Allagash Curieux: $35.50. DFH 90 Minute IPA: $7.50. Racer 5 (12 ounce): $6.00 (compared to 16 ounce draft at $5.50). Leffe Blond was crazy overpriced at $11 for a 330 ml; there are hundreds of different six-packs I can get from a store for less money.
Slater's 50/50 is a good burger and beer place, and you could actually drink the night away here with the beers availbale. I'd come here again for another draft and burger.
