Good color and nice pink head that quickly dissipates with minimal lacing. Smells of raspberries. Flavor is a perfect balance of fruity sweetness and wonderful sour raspberry notes. More sour and less sweet than the Lindemans, but firmly more sweet and less sour than the Cantillon. Nice and bubbly and a typically high drinkability despite the sour notes. Very refreshing.

On tap at Hopcat in Grand Rapids. Enjoyed this one alongside a jam-packed quesadilla. It pours a deep ruby color with a slightly pink and purple type of tint to it. Opaque for the most part, although some light beams through the very extremities. The head is soft, foamy, and tinted a vibrant shade of pink as well - quick to fade with no lacing left behind.

St. Louis Framboise has an aroma that is jam packed with fruity goodness, right from the start. Raspberries take the center stage - what a shocker, I know. However there seems to be a solid cherry character on the nose, too, which works quite nicely with the raspberry. Soft and mostly sweet, but it never reaches the level of being sour or tart. It's safe to say that the aroma is a bit of a one-trick pony, but it's still quite nice and certainly refreshing. After all, it achieves what it has set out to achieve, right?

Up front, I get hit with a slight touch of tartness almost immediately, something I wasn't expecting based on the lack of "sourness" detected on the nose. However, the tartness subsides quickly and this beer is pretty far from being sour - it's actually rather sweet. Fruits jump out and run rampant from start to finish; a huge berry bonanza. Raspberries, blackberries, and cherries - juicy, ripe, and delicately sweet. There isn't much to balance the sweetness, however the sweetness really isn't high enough to need balance, so it works just fine. Thin bodied for the most part, slick and wet on the palate with medium-high carbonation and a slight snap on the mouth feel.

Pretty nice and refreshing lambic here. Not much "sour" happening, rather lots of sweetness. Huge raspberry flavor gets coupled nicely with a bit of cherry, too. Pretty similar to Lindeman's Framboise, though it's been quite a while since I've had that one, so I don't know if I can say for sure which one is better. Very close, though, and would both go well with this quesadilla.
