Wow, this beverage impressed me. I am a big fan of the style and was surprised to find this great one produced locally, and from a can.

Pours hazy and bright yellow/golden hazy color. Head is not thick and does not leave much lacing although some is present. Smell is strong of sweet "bubblegum" and banana's. Good, strong and pleasant lighter aroma to this beer.

Taste is great, rellay smooth and on the lighter side with light carbonation.

This beer will definitely be one of my regulars now. Highly suggest purchasing or acquiring this beer.

can from Bottle Revolution, Raleigh

a: agitated in the can, this hefe pours into my mason jar pint a hazy hay-golden in color, an initial push of white head quickly recedes to only a thin ring and surface layer

s: wheat malt structure with a slight fruit-sugar sweetness, yeasty bubblegum, banana, candied citrus, grape, papery noble hops, smells great

m: carbonation moderate-high, composed of small bubbles and lively, body lighter but with a nice heft from the yeast and sugars - not thin

t: wheat malt body with a range of yeasty hefe flavors - bubblegum, tropical fruits, sweet orange, underripe banana - none particularly assertive but combining to a really nice, full flavor, perfectly balanced sweetness, papery noble hop flavors, cleaning up in the finish with a crisp but mild bittering

o: a high quality hefe with lots going on, ideally I like a little more yeast and complexity in mine, but that's nitpicking - the balance here is excellent - and yay for more NC beers in cans

Poured from a can into a weizen glass.

A - It's a slightly hazy golden straw color with pretty consistant carbonation. A moderate white head which turns into a longer lasting right lacing on the glass.

S - Lemony citrus and clove with a bit of biscuit.

T - A pretty balanced hefe. Some spicy notes pop out a bit more than I'm used to for the style. The lemon citrus and clove are present as well with a bit of a biscuity after taste. I almost think it's a little too balanced. I dont't get any of the banana at all.

M - Very light though the carbonation reminds you of it's presence. High drinkability and probably a very good middle of summer beer.

O - This is not my favorite if the style but still well crafted. One of the things I really like in Hefe's are the banana flavors that can come through and this was lacking them almost entirely.

Thanks to WoodyChandler for this one. Poured into 16oz nonic. Poured the typical cloudy yellow color expected of the style, with less than 1/4 inch of white head that had very low retention and no lacing. With this style, I expect lots of big, fluffy white head.

The aroma was on the mild, almost bland, side of typical. Some very light yeast, but nice earthy wheat. None of the expected (and loved) banana and clove. On the tongue, the story was blandly similar. The nice wheat taste was left to carry the flavor on its own, with no support from the yeast.

The body was very thin, even for a style isn't isn't generally thick. Drinkability was good, my 12ozer was gone quickly, and I probably would have had another, if I had had another. Overall, this was a kind bland and meh example of the style. Perhaps if it were called a Pale Wheat, the number scores would have been higher. I enjoyed this brew after a 3-1/2 hour bike ride and it hit the spot nicely. I just thought it was kind of weak for a Hefe. Worth trying if you see it.

On this, New CANned Beer Sunday, my latest thanks and gratitude go out to eli323232 for this and Second Wind, the latter of which I may not get to today. Let The CANQuest CANtinue unabated!

From the CAN: "Handcrafted in Eastern N.C."; "German Style Hefeweizen Ale"; "Peace, Love & Beer".

I had a good Crack and employed an inverted Glug as a result, ending up with a fizzy finger of bone-white head with modest retention. Color was a hazy lemon-yellow. Nose was faint, kind of lemony-citrus, but really hard to tell. At least it was not a big banana bomb. Mouthfeel was kind of thin and watery and although it was not as big as I would prefer, it was clove ester-forward! Be still my heart! I was not head over heels in love, but I'd come back for seconds over some Hefe dogs that I have been CANfronted with in the past. Finish was dry and slightly spicy, but there was room for improvement. I am really CANflicted on this one as it had my favorite flavor profile for the style, however, it was not as intense as I would have hoped for. How to score this one ...?

Thanks to the creator of the can quest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of wheat, some banana. Taste is the same, wheat with mild banana, a little mild for this style. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing warm weather beer.

A: A hazy straw color with a thin line of white swirls on top of the beer.

S: A nice wheat aroma with clove and some earthy hop.

T: The wheat malt really comes through in the flavor and blends well with a citrus and clove flavor. The finish is very smooth with a spicy clove aftertaste.

M: A bit peppery from the carbonation and then very smooth.

O: Very good hefe. Easy to drink and delicious. Great feel to it. Very refreshing beer.
