I was frankly a little surprised to see Ordinary Joe's listed here on BA. Living in Watertown, which somehow is a big brother to Oakville, I occasionally drop in on OJ's and as the Spaceman has aptly described in the previous review, it's worth the stop. My main gripe about the place has been that it is pretty small and is often very crowded. It can be hard to figure out where to park yourself on a Friday afternoon without getting in the way of other bodies and bathroom doors, etc. But it is a friendly place and they have some very decent brews available, particularly in bottles. The tap selection is pretty, well, ordinary, but one or two interesting choices are usually available as the Spaceman has itemized. Still, it's not a place to go to discover something rare and exotic, just a solid choice as local establishments go, and the wings and chili are all very good. I'm glad this is on BA, it's deserving and possibly you'll find something you never had before if you search the bottle fridge in the corner carefully. Certainly the best place to hang out in my vicinity, I just wish there was a little more elbow room. I'm not a regular but it always seems to get busy when I've stopped in. Now I kind of want to head over for some wings and an ipa...

Ordinary Joe's is a good little nook located right in Oakville. A sports bar with really good food yet has a decent selection of beer for the craft scene. Very comfortable atmosphere with plenty of TV's behind the bar. On tap, the usual rotation is as follows and only $3.00 a pint:
Flying Dog Pale Ale
Berkshire Mountain Pale Ale
Samual Adams Seasonal
Magic Hat #9
& a couple more.
The best part of this place is the "Beer Box" which features a huge selection of craft beer in bottles at only $3.00 - $3.50 a bottle. Some of their offerings include Sierra Nevada Pale Ale & Torpedo, Weyerbacher Merry Monks, Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter, Copper Ale & Seasonal, Ithaca offerings, some Berkshire 22oz bombers, DFH 60 Minute & 90 Minute, Shipyard Export & Seasonal, Long Trail IPA, Magic Hat Circus Boy & Seasonal, and more, you really have to look through the box since they are always adding new stuff in there.
The food is your standard pub fare but is really ahead of alot of other area bars, in quality & price. O'Joe's features a wide selection of wings (some of the best in the state), as well as great burgers, and their famous chile, filled with melted cheese and jalapeno's served with tortilla chips. Their loaded potato skins are out of this world as well!
The service is very good for a bar of this stature, the bartenders are very helpful and very courteous. I never have to throw my hand up for a beer, as the bartenders know when your finished with a beer and always ask you what you'd like next. You'll almost always see the owener Joe walking around, he talks to everybody and is a really down to earth guy.
Overall, there isn't much in Oakville to really go crazy about, especially such it's such a small town. But Ordinary Joe's is an awesome spot to watch the game, have some top notch pub fare, and enjoy a decent selection of craft beer.
