I had not been here for a few years, and so decided to go back for a visit. Located at the corner of Pine St. and Moody St., with a large municipal parking lot and garage behind, this is a comfortable brewpub. The center of the pub is the large, rectangular bar. The bar has fixed stools with backs (and if you have large legs, this might not be the most comfortable place to sit), and there are tables and booths as well. The Moody St. front is glass windows. There are a few small tv's above the bar.
The seem to have 5 regular beers on tap, and 3 specials on tap, and 1 special on cask. The offer a nice 4 beer sampler (4-5 oz glasses) for $4.95, and you get to pick your four beers in your sampler (a nice touch). The beer menu gives a description of each brew, which includes %abv and IBU.
The menu is fairly typical pub fare, and the food I tasted was good.
The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable.
Overall a very comfortable place. They are currently recruiting members for their Mug Club ($35/year). This is one of the rare brewpubs these days that only serves their own beer (no Bud Light here!), and they don't appear to have a hard liquor license.

Decent place, with a big, central bar and many booths/tables scattered all around. Decorated with some large, old, obscure bier/wine posters. There are a couple of tv's at the bar for the sports lover (though one of my Daughters and I did thoroughly enjoy watching the Three Stooges on them there once!!). Most of the biers I've sampled there are pretty good, with the once-in-a-while standout, like the Imperial Stout or Barleywine. Service has been quite good in regards to taking care of your needs. Selection is typically quite good for a brewpub, with 7 to 8 regular/seasonal biers. Can't expound too much on the food menu, but the Buffalo Chicken Fingers are A-1 (though not hot enough!). Grilled chicken sammich on another visit was tasty, but much too small; it got lost in the kaiser roll. A bit pricy for a lot of "pub-grub" type items. Check 'em out!

Since I live near by, this is my home town pub. With their new mug club, I find myself going more often now. I really enjoy all of the beers that they make. Out of the standards, I prefer the stout and IPA. Always take a look at the seasonals as they are usually very good as well. Please do try the cask ale. Lately it has been the same Privateer IPA, but still very tasty. The food is pretty standard pub fare. Chicken, burgers and pasta dishes are the norms. I would think this place would be hard to get to unless you live in the area.

This looked like the type of bar we'd like - dark wood bar, wide open spaces...But once we sat down: the service was terrible and we were the only ones in there! We had the Moody Street Stout, Chocolate Thunder Porter, Hops Explosion IPA, & Up Yer Kilt Scotch Ale. If the stout and porter had been served a touch warmer, this place would have moved up a notch. No clue what the food was as the bartender never came back to our side of the bar to ask us if we wanted anything to eat, never mind refilling our sampler. Did I mention we were the only ones there? Screwtop growlers (must be a Massachusetts thing).
