Ah, Keystone Avenue, dodge the bums and townies. This place used to be cooler. They don't really seem to get a lot of seasonal stuff and definitely not the limited release stuff from most (although they do usually have Deschutes cool stuff). They have the larger regional craft stuff (SN, Stone, Deschutes etc. . .).
Lots of their stuff is old, dusty, you can get some really old ipas here, which is not a good thing. Their wine selection blows the beer selection away. The guys who work there tend to not know shit about beer. And usually the information they give you isn't even correct. Got any Abyss left? Nope (2 cases on the floor). A month later. Any Abyss left at the other Ben's stores? Nope, been gone for weeks. Oh really, I just bought a bottle 2 days ago across town.
Hey what else can you do? A decent place and all, like the refurbishing they did to the outside, but at the end of the day, they have unintentionally aged beer and pretty much the same old same old all the time.

This Ben's has a good selection of local brews from Nevada, California, and Oregon. There are about six coolers of chilled beers and three shelves of bombers. I found the Dechutes and Alaskan beers I wanted just fine. There is plenty of macro offerings as well. Ben's does not have the variety of other stores I have been in though. The service was friendly and went out of their way to help me as I was a bit lost in the Reno area. Prices seemed reasonable to what I would pay in Massachusetts. Not sure if I would stop here as a local, but for a tourist looking for something that I cannot get back home, they certainly had enough to keep me satisfied.

There are several Ben's in the Reno area, this one seems to have the weakest selection. Still, they carry many of the local NV, CA, OR brews. Stone, Sierra Nevada, Buckbean, Deschutes, Alaskan, etc. Prices a little steep on some "ordinary" sixers (SN Pale), but they usually have a sale on two or more breweries offerings. Small rack of Belgians and bombers, overpriced as usual. Lots of other booze in the store.
Staff is generally not too helpful. "If you don't see it we don't got it/can't get it." or "Never heard of that."
This Ben's location is in one of the dodgier areas, so I guess the level of quality comes with the territory.
