Notes:
Made by our very own Todd Schwem, this Chocolate Stout was made with cocoa nips from Ghana and vanilla beans from Madagascar. It is quite rich, black in color and complex. It begins with intense chocolate and finishes with vanilla.

Huge thanks to BigBadBarrel for this bottle!
poured into tulip glass.
Appearance: black bodied beer with 1 finger of tan head. Drops down to a thin uneven cap.
Smell: milk chocolate, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, lactose note and mild roast.
Taste: mild to moderately sweet milk chocolates. Lactose note, a hint of nuttiness and roasty malts. Cocoa and vanilla notes add to the sweetness of milk chocolates. Finishes with a mildly bitter and dry cocoa note and the vanilla sweetness seems to linger and balance out the cocoa flavor. Really nice!
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with low end of moderate carbonation. Silky and creamy mouthfeel. Ultra smooth beer that drinks like is 5% abv.
Overall: This milk stout is even a little more enjoyable than both Moo Hoo and Lugene; who are both big names in this beer style. This is probably my 2nd favorite Milk Stout that I have ever drank. Only Surly Four is better! Kuhnhenn another wonderful beer! Wish that this beer didnt have a single bottle limit this would be a great beer to add as a regular offering at Kuhnhenns. It really too bad this beer was such a limited offering, I would like to see more of this beer!

Thanks saisonrichbiere for the hook up
The beer pours jet black with an inch of dense tan head that fades down to a centimeter thick blanketing. The nose is potent milk chocolate, very sweet, but not black tuesday sweet. The taste engages my palate with more complexity than just the chocolate-milk-beer I'd expected. Rich milk chocolate up front transitions into a dry, bitter, >65% cocoa-like finish. It's safely medium bodied, if not full bodied, smooth, reasonably attenuated and has a dry Irish-stout-like finish. Honestly, the back-end bitter roastiness and touch of acidity brings out the vanilla, which is almost completely overpowered by the nibs. I like this beer more than most milk stouts, especially with definitive vanilla and cocoa and a maintained drinkability (i.e. it doesn't feel/taste like I'm chugging down Hershey's syrup), but I'm not sure I'd make a second request for it considering kuhnhenn's other offerings
