Style | ABV
American IPA |  4.75% ABV

Availability: Limited (brewed once). on-tap (9), growler (4)

Notes:
This West Coast IPA was made to be a session IPA. It is very light gold in color with an intensely hopped nose. It has a high citrus hop flavor with a dry crisp aftertaste. If you like the DRIPA and want to last longer, try the Fluffer...

Poured on-tap at Frankenmuth's World Expo of Beer.

Appearance: DRIPA. A pale yellow color without much head or lacing.

Smell: DRIPA. ... just less pronounced. Very pleasant fruity hop aroma. Very inviting.

Taste: DRIPA ... just watered down. Even Kuhnhenn's description of this beer says something along the lines of, "if you want the taste of DRIPA to last all day." or something like that. Truthfully, that's what this tastes like. DRIPA's a great beer ... watered down DRIPA is a good beer, but it gives that... excuse me for this... WATER aftertaste. The taste just falls off at the end. The nice little linger that DRIPA has is what makes that beer so great. This is what it is ... DRIPA Light. If anyone wants to tell you it's a different recipe besides less flavor, they're wrong.

Given the ABV, this is a brilliant beer. Somewhat lazy of Kuhnhenn to do what they did with Fluffer, but it's worlds better than many other craft brews that are <5% ABV.

On draft at Tap and Barrel, Smithtown, NY.

Poured a medium brassy hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was very Goid retention and lacing.

The smell featured resinous piney hops aplenty.

The taste consisted of a full on hop assault with elements of pine, pepper and grass. A nice crackery malt as well.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style with a clean finish.

Overall a tasty balmy session bomb.

slightly hazy light golden pour with 2 fingers of white head which dissipated slowly. the smell is nothing short of a regular ipa.. lots of citrusy grapefruit and pine with a sweet honey-like scent following. the flavor is perfectly balanced.. lots of piney bitter hops up front with a bready malt backbone. one would think a beer may suffer in flavor from becoming a session ale, but not this one! mouthfeel is medium body (again surprised) with a moderate amount of carbonation.

this is a solid ipa and the fact that it falls into the session category is even more enticing. the brewer over at kuhnhenn is a fucking master. there is no doubt. i was in nyc about to pick up a friend whose flight got cancelled so i made a day of just hitting up a few spots. got the growler filled at good beer nyc which luckily for me still had this on tap from sunday. this is the 2nd time i see kuhnhenn on tap in ny and it makes me happy that i've been able to fill with 2 different beers of theirs. never a disappointment.

On tap at Kuhnhenn Brewery in Warren. Pours a pale straw color, almost similar to the color of Mott's apple juice, with a mild haze to it, still allowing large amounts of light through. Small head, most likely due to the tap pour, tiny bits of lacing along the glass. This one had quite a large, fruity, citrus aroma to it; lots of peach and mango, also some mild grapefruit. Light hoppy and pine resins on the nose, too. Taste comes through even harder on the hop-side of things; pines, pine trees, resins, light floral flavors. The mouth and flavor were just a touch watery, probably given the low ABV of the beer, but still - it packed a reasonable sized hop punch. The bitterness was there, albeit mild overall. Citrus on the palate was a bit lighter than it was on the nose, which is to be expected. Aftertaste full of wet, grassy hops and some peaches and grapefruit rinds. Thin-medium bodied with a medium-high amount of carbonation.

Very good IPA here, especially considering the fact you could drink this bad boy all day. Reminds me of Founder's All Day IPA. Is this one better? It's hard to say. It's damn good, regardless.
