Pours a deep brownish deep tan hue with gold hues swirling around the edges. I poured this fast and only got a one finger head that faded quickly. Nice lacing around the edges, not too sticky though.

I get some sweet bourbon, caramel, dark dried fruits, slight subtle hops, and a toasted campfire marshmallow undertone.

Boy oh boy, what a mix of flavors! Marshmallow, caramel, sweet bourbon, oak, toasted grain and deep sweet malts, mocha, slight biscuit, and a sweetness in the finish from the malt and bourbon.

I thought this would be a lot different than the regular 4th d, but it was as bourboney as id imagined once I discovered they brewed this, not complaining, still a wonderfully complex beer with perfect balance and taste. Alcohol is very well hidden beneath the plethora of multiple flavors.

A - Dark brown and murky. No lace. No head.

S - Fantastic. Ripe cooked dark fruits, so MUCH smell! Get drunk and happy just smelling it.

T - Big booze, cooked fruits, a meal in itself. I want more. The BA doesn't make it much woodier for me, just more complex.

M - Pretty. Thick , balanced. Yummy.

D - I only have the one. I wish I had a case.
