Granite is my go to place and has been for the last year. The selection is top notch and one of the best in the state. I have been to all the best bottle shops in the state and I know of only one that is better and that is simply because they(Julio's) carry every release that hits the state and the sheer volume of beer they bring in ensures that their stock remains full for longer. Jon at Granite has a fantastic selection that is continuously growing by the shipment, and the freshness factor is unreal for all the hop-heads out there. The staff is fantastic and Jon really knows his stuff. I can recommend this place to anyone that loves beer and needs a new shop to grab some fantastic bottles. The beer tastings are pretty awesome as well.

I pass about a dozen other package stores on the way here, but it by far worth the trip.
There is a full isle stacked with warm craft beers, and a variety in the cooler as well. The selection is huge, and it seems to get bigger every time I come. From what I hear they frequently have tastings, I just often seem to miss them. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and always willing to help. I swear the "Bearded Beer Guy has a PHD in beers and breweries!" I highly recommend Granite Liquors.

I went for the first time last Friday for their Spring Beer Tasting. I can't believe I hadn't been to this place sooner. They must have had at least 50 beers to sample. It was like a free beerfest!

After sampling the majority of the beers I made it to the beer aisles. I was amazed at the the selection they had. I have found only a few places on the South Shore that carry a good selection of beers. This place seemed to have all of them! Although, like some of the other viewers have already said - some of the bottles were dusty. I can overlook this if it saves me a trip to Boston to find the beer I want.

The service was amazing (maybe because there were a lot of extra hands and distributors available). I found there prices overall reasonable.

I highly recommend this place

Upped the marks on this on July 30-2010. John the beer manager has really upped the quality and the customer service is outstanding. This has really become one of those drive to stores on the south shore. I left my initial review in here for review's sake though.

Went to Granite Liquors for a tasting last Friday and I was impressed with this little gem. The selection is impressive for a store of this size. They have a full aisle of warm beer and several coolers. Most of the beer prices were reasonable if not slightly cheaper than what I would expect. The best part is that they have a wide variety of singles on about eight shelves that you can mix a six for a flat rate of $11 after tax. While they do not have all their beer there, they have a great variety from Clipper City, Sierra Nevada, Ithaca, and more. Some of the bottle were a bit old and dusty, however most were fresh. The service was friendly and helpful. If I lived in the area, I would go there often.

Definitely a decent beer store. Its not a huge liquor store so to see an entire aisle and several cases filled with craft beer is excellent. Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Avery, Troegs, Great Divide, Bear Republic, Smuttynose, and some international beers as well.

I haven't seen many places to mix-a-six around here, so was excited to check that selection out. Its not huge, but fairly diverse. Definitely some not great items like old summer ales. Plus the bottles on the bottom shelves were very dusty. However, I was pleased with my 6-pack for $10.50.

One of the guys working came over and tried to give me some help. Normally I am happy to discuss beer with folks, but his attitude came across as rather condescending (perhaps because I am female) and he also came across as boastful about their mix-six selection which was decent, but not great.

However, that was just 1 interaction with 1 guy working there. I'd still go back for their selection, although maybe not their mix-a-six selection.

I need to update this! I obviously had only been to Granite once. Selection is INCREDIBLE and growing every day. What John and Kevin have going here is a beautiful thing. Looking for something brand new? HERE! Forget my comments about nobody here to talk to. My problem is getting OUT. Everybody talks beer and you can stay WAY TOO LONG (and spend a lot of cash:)

Granite is a very handy place for me as it is located between the Union Brew House and My House!

Selection is UNBELIVABLE! They have 3 doors dedicated to craft beers. One of my pet peeves are buying warm and then having to wait at home to drink. Not here! You can always find a quaffable bomber bottle cold here.

The downside (and maybe it is my problem). I like to talk beer and there is noone here to talk to! Unbelievable selection like this needs full time person manning the shelves, IMO! I like to talk with John but he is NEVER here!

Selection - here. Beer talk with beer brothers? Try Ralph's in Hingham.

I used to live in Weymouth, right down the street from here for about a year or so and it was my standby place. I was pretty new into beer and they had one of those mix-a-six locations on an end-cap and I was a fan. The selection wasn't huge, but decent when I went. Had mostly the heavy hitter New England Products with and general crowd pleasers. I came by today cause I was in the area and was most impressed. The selection has seriously increased. They went from a cooler and a few end caps to adding a whole aisle and doubled the selection on that mix a six end cap. They have good craft beer from all over the country, all the great expected brews like Stone, Rogue, Founders, Avery, Anchor Steam and many many more and quite a few selections from each brew. Their import selection increased big time. Having great stuff like Hobgoblin, Chimay, Delerium Tremmons, Samuel Smith, and the list continues. The prices were pretty reasonable, I've found some of their stuff cheaper at other places, but some of there other stuff was pretty cheap too. I gotta say I was impressed how neat the beer aisle was, everything was perfectly lined up as if a perfectionist set it up. I ended up just going with a mix a six today and there was a lot of good stuff in there. They had Troeg's, Samuel Smith, Great Divide, Anchor Steam, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Boulder, Avery and many more. A little pricy $10.50 for it, but the selection is better than at most places. The service was pretty good too, the main worker I saw there today saw me strolling around for a while (I didn't expect to be there as long as I did) and asked if I needed any help and I explained to him I haven't been there in a few years and couldn't believe how much the beer selection expanded. He said they've really tried hard to get more beer there and if I had trouble finding anything than they can generally try to order it. I thought that was some pretty good customer service.

This is now my number one place to go. Customrer service gets a 6/5

This is for sure, my newest fav. in the area. The selection is officially HUGE! Not like a Lukes "All Fillah" more like an "All Killah".
We're talking about a good aisle and a half of store temp stuff and enough in the coolers to satisfy the most boring of beer lovers.
In the aisle I saw Allagash (Fluxxus 09)(Confluence)(Victoria Ale)(Tripel) Also, De Dolle (OerBier)and(Mad Bitch) almost everything from Stone including (Vertical Epic 09),Founders, Left Hand (Oaked Imperial Stout), Great Divide, Mad River and plenty of other staples.
The selection is still growing as I'm told from the "Bearded Beer Guy".

I felt the need to add to my review. This place has gone through the roof with the selection. They now carry Abbaye Saint Bon Chien 06,07, Both Sinature Ales from De Proef, Rochefort 10 and many other rare finds.

Fyi, "The Bearded Beer Guy" is there every Tue and Thur night. This is when I go as well so that I may talk beer while drooling and loading up my cart.

No more trips into Boston for really good beer....NICE.

Has been the closest beer store to me for a while, but never had anything beyond Sam and Harpoon. Until now! Steadily built up a solid micro section. They have a whole aisle dedicated to micros and it is growing. Decent selection in the cooler as well. Plenty of bombers kept cold. Complete lineup of dogfish, Lagunitas, Stone etc. Everything is kept neat and dusted, I noticed. They are trying to get the craft beer buyers in there and they are doing a good job now! Ask them if you want something different, too. They seem to want feedback and ideas for new beers!
