This store is my go-to place for those hard to find beers. They carry most of the major brands you would expect plus some other hidden gems. It's sad how much time I spend just walking up and down the craft beer isle, swooning over the expensive bottles I will never own. All in all, most of the stuff here is competitively priced with the rest of the package stores in the area, and some items are actually cheaper here! Great selection of Belgian and American sours. I've seen Jolly Pumpkin, 3Fonteine, Cuvee Rene, Timmermans, Cascade Sours, Alligash barrel beers.

Nestled away on a strip of stores in a plaza anchored by a Shaw's Supermarket is this hidden gem.

Driving by, it looks lime a small, dirtball liquor store. Those perceptions are put to rest upon entering. The premiere stuff is in the far back, highlighted by the "green carpet" specials on the shelf, which contain the best selections. Aside from that, it is arguably the best variety of breweries in the state.

The staff is always willing to assist you with any questions and I've had no complaints. The better stuff carries a high price tag, but that's the same for any store. Definitely a fairly priced establishment.

In a nutshell: If you want craft beer on the South Shore, this is the place.

Whenever I am in the area I always stop by this store. Driving by one would assume it is your typical liquor store next to a grocery store, but this place is far from your typical liquor store. It is not the neatest or cleanest looking store, but who cares with the selection they have got here.

There is a huge selection of imports, local, and US craft. The selection here in unmatched in the South Shore. I'm from Cape Cod, and no store on or near it can touch this place in overall quality. Beer is roughly organized by country so it is easy to find what you are looking for. Everything is well priced and cheaper than the other stores I am familiar with.

John, the bearded guy, knows his stuff and is really friendly. He won't mind helping you at all, and will give you some good discounts too when you are buying a lot. The rest of the staff are nice and know a good thing or two about craft as well.

Coming from the Cape this place is awesome. It makes the rest of the South Shore and the Cape look like chump change. Unfortunately this store is an hour drive from my house, but it is definitely worth driving up.

This is the best place in the South Shore to get beer, and maybe even the whole state. My husband really loves beer and this is his favorite store too. He will find excuses to go here and I don't mind because it's great. Everything is well organized all over the store. The service is better than anywhere else. If you've made a few visits, they'll probably call you by name. John knows beer well and listens to what his customers wants, he takes good care of them. I don't know everything about beer, but according to my husband their selection is top knotch, and why would he lie? Worth it to go here for all the categories listed above.

Really unassuming place next to Shaw's that I had been by a hundred times until I saw what glowing reviews it gets here. The selection is second to none in the Boston area, with an enormous full length aisle of bombers and a treasure trove of 6 packs, both cold and warm in the back. The help here, especially for a relative newcomer to craft beer is wonderful. The bearded guy that runs the beer department is both helpful and engaging. As far as selection goes, some of the stuff I have seen here that I haven't seen many other places are Red Racer IPA and Pale Ale, Port High Tide...and it was the first place I saw Baxter's stuff. Prices are reasonable, about what you would pay anywhere else.

My only complaint is that while they do have a clearance shelf of past date stuff, I've seen some still on shelves and, as with any store, check your dates on those bottles that have them (if they apply). Overall, a great store that is worth the drive from in town to stock up now and then.

A craft beer lover's paradise! The store is clean and organized, most bottles and sections are labelled clearly, and the service is impeccable!

Incredible selection of Belgians, other imports, New England brews, and West Coast specialties. And guess what...picked up a 4-pack of Founders Breakfast Stout that they had in the back! They keep rare and special beer in the back to keep the poachers and traders at bay. The guy with the red beard is one of the most helpful and knowledgeable beer guys I have ever talked to at a liquor store.

Most bottles are clean and in good shape. There were a few dusty ones that hadn't been touched in a while. They had a lot of Red Racer IPA and SN Estate to name a few of the standouts. I'm surprised the Estate hasn't been snatched up because it's so delicious and it's a fresh hop beer, but it's pretty expensive no matter where you find it. The prices at Granite are fantastic!

In conclusion, there isn't a better place on the South Shore to buy craft beer and I'd say it's up there with Julio's in Westborough. Although Julio's has a larger selection, it's also a much bigger store and the service at Granite puts it on the same level. I was given the owner's business card and was told to call/email any time I'm looking for something special. Very impressed. Plus, The Union Brewhouse is just down the street so stop in there as well!

Granite Liquors has got to be "Beer Heaven". Each time I stop in There is always something new added to the vast selection of quality beers on hand.

Whether it's something for the "gang" or something special to share with family & friends, you can find it here.

The biggest impression is that they listen to their customers and do all they can to bring in product that's new & exciting.

Recently John brought in Boulevard Brewing Company's Smokestack Series. Fantastic line of quality beers.

Granite Liquors' Management & Staff have hit another home run.

Best package store on the South Shore bar none! John and his crew will go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for, or suggest something new to try. Terrific selection of hard to find stuff. (If you're a Belgian Sour fan, this is YOUR place!) I always end up buying way more than I went in for, but will usually get discounts on mixed selections. Check out the selection of 5 litre kegs in the back. Only place I've seen Schlenkerla not in those dinky bottles!!!

Plus they always have the best tunes playing for your shopping pleasure.

A TRUE GEM!!!

As noted in other reviews, while Granite may look like a crappy strip mall packie next to a grocery store, looks are deceiving. They offer an extensive selection of beers and often have hard-to-find stuff on the shelf. The prices are right where they should be, and they often will discount mixed cases of bombers-a nice touch.

One caveat-they often allow older, out-of-code beer to linger on the shelf. Unlike other places, they will act upon this issue if brought to their attention, but still one should always check for bottling dates when buying IPAs and other styles that are not suitable for aging.

That said, you often find aged stouts and old ales that are in their prime, and can be reasonably assured that they have been treated well during their time at Granite.

Nice, helpful folks behind the counter, too. I stop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

This is a very cool craft beer store down in Weymouth, MA on Route 53. Stop by if in the area to check out this place.

The store is split into two, alcohol and wine on the left, and all craft beer and normal beer on the right and in the back. Everything is well organized and somewhat organized together based on region and/or country. If you can't find something John or somebody else can give you a hand.

The quality of beer this is great. They do great volume, so the beer is fresh and doesn't sit aorund for too long. You can even make your own six packs and buy a mystery case of singles. I have had scored on some good beers in those cases for a reasonable case price. They even have hard to find Belgium and Northern European beers too that you can't anywhere else in the area.

The service in the store is good. John is a very knowledgeable beer consultant for the store and has brought in beers that you can't find anywhere else in the area. He knows a lot about beers from everywhere around the world and get something particular if you are looking for it.

Since they do great volume, they have the advantage of offering beers at reasonable prices that are one of the best in the whole area.

This place is a little gem in the Shaw's plaza of Weymouth that is worth the visit. It is extremely hard to figure out what I want to buy sometime due to the great selction they have.
