Appearance: Noticeable darker than Guinness Draught. Looks like coffee, Coke, and chocolate syrup. A nice amount of foam to begin with but can end up looking a bit flat compared to Draught style.

Smell: Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Also a nice amount of maltiness and sweetness. Very pleasant.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Also tastes like coffee and chocolate, and warms you up as such. No carbonation. Very bitter, which might be off-putting to a lot of people but I find it enjoyable. Complexity of beer changes as it warms and the coffee/malt levels shift a bit...more coffee when cold, more malt when warm. Nice.

Drinkability: Not much to say, other than that it's a very good beer to drink.

Overall: Better than Draught, at least when Draught comes in a bottle. Just a stronger, less carbonated, darker version of its famous brother.

Appearance: Dark; molasses-like; 2-finger head, dissipates rapidly

Aroma: Malty, roasted grain, coffee

Taste: Bitter, creamy, with dry aftertaste; not bad, but not well balanced

Remarks: I've always felt Guinness was a bit too thin for the style

Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores
