Tried this one at the Brewhaus.

A - Purple-black in the glass with a small cocoa colored head. This isn't as foamy as the nitro-canned Guinness or course, and no matter how much folks on this site slam nitro-cans or bottles as "fake" or artificial, I find myself sorely missing that light whipped foamy creaminess that my usual Guinness provides.

S - Dark cocoa powder over espresso with milk. Isn't that called a mocha latte or something?

T - This is darker and more bitter than the standard version. It's got a very pronounced baker's chocolate and cocoa powder taste, along with a lactic acid sourness that compliments the cocoa well.

M - Light bodied, bitter, and dusty on the finish. That dusty feel only accentuates the cocoa powder vibe of this brew.

D - Not bad, but not as "special" as I thought it would be. I don't know, but if I was celebrating a 250 year anniversary, I would do it with a bit more pizazz. I wish they would have made a double/imperial/super stout or maybe something barrel aged. As it is, this is a good stout but I actually prefer the regular stuff... could just be that old habits die hard.

A- Pours dark brown, leads to black in the glass with a slightly off-white bubbly head.

S- Hint of roasty malts and bready malts. Slight bitterness in the aroma too.

T- Similar to classic Guinness, with a little more maltiness in the body.

M- More of a standard stout feel than compared to the nitro Guinness. This one is slightly oxidized, which is to be expected based on the age, but my notes from years ago indicate medium body.

O- Clearly this one is passed it's prime, but drinking it again, along with my notes from before concur that this was a pretty good beer and an improvement on standard Guinness.
